Count me in among the list of people that didn't think Dustin Pedroia's numbers were good enough to get him the MVP award. People like me are who have kept Pedroia going throughout his entire career. He wants to prove us wrong and he has yet again done so, but this time by being named the Most Valuable Player in the American League.
Pedroia has become the second player in history to win the MVP award the year after picking up a 'Rookie of The Year' trophy. He did it by getting first place votes on 16 of the 28 ballots that were cast.
His offensive numbers for 2008: .326 AVG, 17 HR, 83 RBI. He did all this while also winning a Gold Glove for his defensive play at second base.
Congrats Petey. Keep proving me wrong.

On a side note anybody think we should stop the whole media vote for this? Two bozo's one in the American League and one in the National League left Pedroia and Ryan Howard off of there ballots, completely off. So somehow these two writers thought that the even though Pedroia won and Howard came in 2nd in the NL voting that there were 10 better players in each respective league. Sounds a little fishy too me.
