EXTREMELY tired of Manny?? Yea, me too...

I for one would like to say that I am really tired of this Manny business. Yes, years ago I was able to say, "Oh its just Manny being Manny" or would excuse his behavior as him being an "Idiot in 2004" or him just trying to make baseball fun with his THEN funny antics. Or even worse, that it didn't matter, because as long as he produced everything else he did off field or said to the media was "A OK".

Now, with all this talk with the trade, I never thought I would say this, but I am really gutting for Theo and the management team to do something and trade Manny. I cant deal with this constant distraction when we are NOW fighting to get into the playoffs with TWO teams instead of ONE this year.

I knew all along for years now, about Manny's fake injuries that he would pull if someone from the management team did something to anger him. I also knew about his immaturity problems of not being able to take no for an answer and always giving the team a "my way or the highway ultimatum" EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!!!

Its never ending. He knows how good he is so hes playing with that idea. He thinks the organization would not want to trade him because they would miss his playing ability (too bad his stats dont help him with this plan), eventually adding up to them letting him do everything he wants as long as he produces HRs. When really that is not how its going to happen. This year seems to have been the final straw for him.

He purposely struck himself out in the last Yankee-Red Sox meeting,a few months ago??? Wow.. over an argument with the organization?? Wow.. thats the definition of child-like behavior, and again, him pulling that "my way or the highway" trick.

How could you sabotage your own team's dream of getting into the playoffs because things did not go YOUR way? I see that as a selfish move. The Red Sox are not all about Manny. If he wants to play ultimatum all day with the operations of the Sox, then fine. His wish or being traded will (hopefully) come true in a matter of a few days.

Manny is constantly embarrassing the team, sabotaging the teams games, fighting with the teammate ( Kevin Youkilis), and senior citizens who work for the team, over game tickets!?!?!?!. And ONCE AGAIN nothing happens because hes a good player who if things don't go his way, can ultimately cause the team to lose if someone has something to say about the way hes acting.

He wants to be able to do what he wants and not have a consequence. But thats not how things are. Manny is NEVER suspended, because like I said, they know he will come out the next day with a "I have a leg injury" or "I'm too sick to play" when he was fine the very day before, and soon the day after, as if the leg injury healed all by itself in a matter of 24 hours.

Its a continous LOSE LOSE situation for the Red Sox organization.

This Manny being Manny thing has gotten old, and is such a hackneyed term, to excuse his actions, and I'm really angry that I, myself have used it to excuse him.

Say if Lugo or Jacoby were to do this? They would have def been suspended or traded or had a talk with the organization without any question.

If its Manny, nothing is said, nothing is done, because its expected of him to one day just burst out with a talk or wanting to leave Boston or him shooting down the management with accusations of disrespect.

They cant do anything much, because he can burst any time with a fake injury. He can even do it during a World Series clinching game! He doesn't care about winning or losing, so sabotaging the team, as if he was the only one in the team, would not matter to him. He has two rings, so losing one wouldn't hurt him at all!! He can burst with anything at ANY time.. and the organization know that.

Heck this Manny saga over the past few years has turned into a soap opera, maybe even bigger than the Bret Favre soap opera...

Like I said, I never thought these words would come out of my mouth because I lik(ED) Manny, but now his childish ways and arguments have just ruined the Sox's image of a mature organization. This thing has been going on for soooo long that its making the organization look like a scared/irresponsible organization that cant handle ONE player.

Hes become an A-Rod who is continuously in the media distracting the teams goals. Look what hes done to the Yankees- they're a joke. Will Manny do the same with the Red Sox??

This article is for my new found dislike of Manny Ramirez as a player as of July 27, 2008. I don't know how he is as a person with his family or friends, but I know for sure, as a teammate, he fails.

But this article is also for the organization who NEEDS to desperately step up its game and not let a player control an organization. They need to stop being scared of Manny and suspend him. I know he can be a threat to other teams when the games are on, but place that aside and concentrate on how hes hurting the team and its chances of becoming a contender. And organization should not be afraid of suspending a player, and if the player continues to sit out as a response to the suspension, suspend even more or trade him. Even if the trade would make him happy.

What bothers me most is that he actually said that the RSO is making him out to be the "bad guy".

This is giving the Yank fans more things to talk about and make fun of. More time for the organization to looks stupid and inferior and weak.

More time to distract the team away from another chance of a World Series appearance...
