TEAMS: Baltimore Orioles, Tampa Bay Rays
I don't know what to say about the Orioles anymore. As much as an optimist as I am, while showing some cynicism, it is pretty much destined that the Orioles will lose 100 games in 2009? As the Orioles left Cleveland over the weekend, they arrived in Tampa Bay, this time to face the Rays; however, despite having a 6-3 lead in the 7th inning, they found another way to lose. On Monday, they lost 7-6, only after reliever Matt Albers gave up a three-run homer to Willy Aybar in the seventh, and then Chris Ray gave up the tying run in the 8th. Mark Hendrickson -- in a spot start for Baltimore -- went six strong innings and gave up three runs (all off of homers), and Brian Roberts had a two-run homer in the fourth, and Melvin Mora had two runs driven in; however, the bullpen could not put out a little smoldering fire, but instead let it burn and burn until it got too late.>>> Read More

The Baltimore Orioles have lost 12 in a row. Forget the game, we all probably know what happened by now, and it is what it is.The blog has been a supporter of Dave Trembley though the good, the bad and ugly; however, the past two weeks -- give or take a day or two -- has been nothing short of seeing the last portion of the Titanic sink into the icy cold waters of the ocean.Does he...

Sunday’s 9-0 beat down of the O’s certainly won’t give Browns fans any sort of silver lining in the afternoon’s Baltimore/Cleveland duel sport challenge, but at [...]
Orioles: Bull session
It seems like every Orioles loss brings a new appreciation for the size of the job facing Andy MacPhail during the offseason -- and there's obviously way more to it than finding an impact guy for the middle of the lineup and one of the corners of the infield.
No matter who's swinging the bat, there will be little hope for solid improvement if the Orioles go into spring...

Another Losing Season…..
As I checked my mlb updates on my phone yesterday and learned about the Baltimore Orioles continuing their 11 game losing streak, I couldn’t help but thinking “my god, when is this season going to be over? this is getting painful.” Supporting a team like the Orioles can be depressing around this time of year, [...]
Orioles again shut down by Rays' Davis, drop 12th in row
Rookie, who shut out Orioles 12 days earlier, holds them to 1 run in 7 innings
Tampa Bay rookie right-hander Davis, with the help of some poor base running from Ty Wigginton (above, being tagged out at home by former Orioles catcher Gregg Zaun), held the Orioles to another ineffective offensive...
