John Fay: Walt Jocketty said the Reds worked out a 2-year deal with Edwin Encarnacion at 2:30 or this morning. The deal is pending a physical. The sides avoid arbitration The Reds had offered $2.55 million; Encarnacion requested $3.7 million.

quote from Dusty,"The aftermath is never nice," Reds manager Dusty Baker said of arbitration hearings. "I'm glad they came to an agreement. It's good for Edwin and good for us."
Hopefully Edwin can stop throwing balls into dugouts this year.

The Reds and Edwin Encarnacion have agreed to a two year deal worth 7.6 million dollars. The deal came just hours before their arbitration hearing, something teams really would prefer to avoid.
