Jose Castillo, Aaron Rowand and Dave Roberts are a combined 3-36 against Marquis. Randy Winn has taken him deep twice. The wind is blowing straight out to CF at 13 mph. Cain has pretty much dominated every Cubs hitter he's faced, but not enough plate appearances for it to matter.

Childish and stupid
Over at Viva el Birdos, some chump wrote a diary about how the Cubs are going to lose 90 to 100 games every year from 2010 to 2015 yesterday. Some people from here went over there and were initially quite decent. lboros shut the comments down in the thread and said the author's fan post was quite thoughtful.
Was it? What I consider thoughtful and what he considers thoughtful...
Here lies a Cubs fan
So here's a new one? how about a cemetery that is only for fans of a certain team? That's right. A Chicago Cubs fan has teamed up with Bohemian National Cemetery to create "Beyond the Vines," a place where only Cubbies fans can go after death. Believe it or not, it's true.
Cubs starters projections for the rest of the season
Using the ZIPs in-season projection tool, I calculated the projections for the 5 Cubs starters for the rest of the year. Rich Harden's stats are projected as a Cub. Since Jason Marquis remains in the rotation for the time being, I only calculated his projection and not Sean Marshall's.
Some pretty good numbers below. Take a look at Harden's numbers. Ridiculous...
Is this Kid drinking beer at Wrigley Field?
So this afternoon, it was a hot one at Wrigley Field as the Cubs beat the Giants 3-1.
Temperature was in the mid-eighties, humidity in the 50-60% range - it probably felt closer to 90 degrees. It's enough to make a kid sitting in the front row at Wrigley really dehydrated.
Better drink something kid …

What Should Not Be
The Cub had business winning this game after the ninth inning. Marmol was atrocious in the ninth, walking 1, hitting a batter, and recording 5 earned runs. Theriot's defense in the inning was equally bad, botching a potential double play and making a ridiculous throw from his back, allowing the tying run to score. If he had held the ball, the Cubs win the game two batters later...
The Cubs Hate Baseball, Apple Pie, America
Imagine this: you're an adorable 7 year-old boy or girl on your way to your first ever game in a major league stadium. Granted, it's that piece-of-crap Wrigley and you have to watch the Scrubs, but you're 7 years old and you don't know the difference. You are psyched! This is [...]
A Hard(en) Act to Follow
On the heels of the CC Sabathia trade to the Brewers, who are a division rival by the way, the Cubs made a deal of their own. A day after CC went from being an Indian to a Brewer, the A's oft injured stud Rich Harden, along with RP and spot starter Chad Gaudin were sent to the Cubs in exchange for middle of the rotation SP Sean Gallagher, OF Matt Murton, INF/OF Eric Patterson...

Wind blowing straight out to CF at 14 mph. Could be a lot of home runs today as Arroyo has given up 18 and Lilly has given up 19 on the season. Mark DeRosa is really the only...
Schwader’s MLB Power Rankings….July 10, 2008
1. Rays- Why not give this talented the benefit of the doubt? They are a young entergetic team that is waiting to make some noise in September.
2. Cubs- This cubs team is waiting to regain full strength as Alfonzo Soriano has not quite done so yet. Also they traded for ...
Another Giant Performance From Marquis
We now know Jason Marquis likes to pitch against the San Francisco Giants. Either that, or he's a brand new man. Let's hope it's more the latter, but I'm sure the Chicago Cubs will take it nonetheless. Marquis went out there and threw a gem of a 7.0 IP shutout, giving up only three hits, walking two, and striking out four in the 3-1 win. His ERA vs. San Fran this...
Wow Spring has Sprung
Spring has sprung for the Giants and the other teams in Arizona and Florida. Though the games don't count, I like watching the progress of the team...A couple of guys are fighting for a spot on the 25-man roster, where just 3 spots may be available...Dave Roberts and his huge salary did not fit into the teams' plans. The Giants still have to pay him though...'Lights...
2008 Fantasy Baseball OF Rankings: Keeper League Draft Values
Wow. Ranking outfielders is much more challenging. There are just too many to easily sort them into tiers. Part of it the fact that a 4th OF has three opportunities to get a starting job which would immediately boost his value. The moment Giants' OF Dave Roberts or Aaron Rowand or Randy Winn ge...
