Over at Viva el Birdos, some chump wrote a diary about how the Cubs are going to lose 90 to 100 games every year from 2010 to 2015 yesterday. Some people from here went over there and were initially quite decent. lboros shut the comments down in the thread and said the author's fan post was quite thoughtful.

So here's a new one? how about a cemetery that is only for fans of a certain team? That's right. A Chicago Cubs fan has teamed up with Bohemian National Cemetery to create "Beyond the Vines," a place where only Cubbies fans can go after death. Believe it or not, it's true.

Using the ZIPs in-season projection tool, I calculated the projections for the 5 Cubs starters for the rest of the year. Rich Harden's stats are projected as a Cub. Since Jason Marquis remains in the rotation for the time being, I only calculated his projection and not Sean Marshall's.
Some pretty good numbers below. Take a look at Harden's numbers. Ridiculous...

So this afternoon, it was a hot one at Wrigley Field as the Cubs beat the Giants 3-1.
Temperature was in the mid-eighties, humidity in the 50-60% range - it probably felt closer to 90 degrees. It's enough to make a kid sitting in the front row at Wrigley really dehydrated.

The Cub had business winning this game after the ninth inning. Marmol was atrocious in the ninth, walking 1, hitting a batter, and recording 5 earned runs. Theriot's defense in the inning was equally bad, botching a potential double play and making a ridiculous throw from his back, allowing the tying run to score. If he had held the ball, the Cubs win the game two batters later...

We now know Jason Marquis likes to pitch against the San Francisco Giants. Either that, or he's a brand new man. Spring has sprung for the Giants and the other teams in Arizona and Florida. Though the games don't count, I like watching the progress of the team...A couple of guys are fighting for a spot on the 25-man roster, where just 3 spots may be available...Dave Roberts and his huge salary did not fit into the teams' plans.
