Found March 25, 2008 on MVN:
While the idea of community projections has existed in blog circles for a while, I haven't seen any real good breakdown as to if those projections were more accurate in aggregate vs. any single individual or experts predictions. So here is what I propose to you today; let's find out. All you have to do is click on the links below to fill out a form for each player asking for predictions for the following statistics; AVG, OBP, SLG, HR, RBI, SB and for pitchers - Wins, Losses, ERA, Strike Outs/9 IP, IP, and Saves. If you would like to provide your name or MVN "handle", it will only be used to call out how correct, or incorrect you are at the end of the season. If you would rather not provide any information linking yourself to your predictions and providing a layer of plausible deniability, feel free to leave it blank. Lastly, please provide the team you root for on a regular basis. Could it be that the collective intelligence of Yankee fans about Red Sox players is more accurate than the fans that live and die all things Sox? We will hopefully find out. Boston & Oakland Tied for the Best Record in Baseball!

The A's (1-1) beat Boston (1-1) today in the Tokyo Dome in Japan by a score of 5-1 behind a great outing by oft-injured SP Rich Harden. This is the reason why the A's were able to trade away Dan Haren. They are counting on Harden staying healthy, because if he can, he's got # 1 starter type stuff and together with Blanton, could keep them out of the basement of the AL West!

We wont be Fultzed again

Those of you who drafted Aaron Fultz as the sleeper lefty for you fantasy team, time to pull the plug. The Tribe realized it was plug-pulling time today, telling the lefty reliever he would not make the 25-man roster. They will either eat his $1.5 million salary or designate and trade him. Fultz was somewhat useful as a lefty out of the pen in the early part of last season, until...

Red Sox are in First Place in the AL East

With most teams still close to a week away, the Red Sox won game one of their regular season this morning in the US, while it was evening in Japan, against the A's. It was not pretty, they were down 2-0; then went up 3-2 only to find themselves down 4-3 in less than an inning; then tied it at 4 with a Brandon Moss (RF) solo shot in the top of the 9th and he was a last minute...

Fun not lost in translation

I'm knocking this out before our second game of the Red Sox because I won't have any time later. We have to hustle to the airport right after the game, but since I didn't give you anything after last night's game, I'll just kind of wrap the trip up for you from my perspective right now. I felt like I threw pretty well last night. My control wasn't exactly...
