The Parlayer:
Wade has decided to throw his name in the hat to become the next President of Red Sox Nation. While everything I've read suggests he is quite the baseball fan and might be capable of filling this prestigious role, I'm going to go out on a huge limb here and suggest that Boston fans will forever associate anyone who worked for John Kerry as not being worthy of being a Red Sox fan, let alone the President of Red Sox Nation, for the sheer fact that Kerry once uttered the fictitious name 'Manny Ortiz'.

Offerman Incident Brings Back Memories
First of all, sorry it's been awhile since my last post. I did not mean to disappear like that, I've just been busy trying to keep us on track for the playoffs.
I saw the post about Jose Offerman's meltdown. Wow. I've seen a couple helmet tosses at pitchers but I've never seen the batter carrying a bat.
Actually, the best brawl I've ever seen was when...
In Honor Of Jose Offerman
While Jose Offerman swinging a bat during his charge to the mound is crazy it's nothing compared to this video of Pawtucket Red Sox player Izzy Alcantara.
Facing the Red Sox
We have a double header with the Red Sox today. I had been asked several times if I was looking forward to facing Beckett, even though he may be starting game two. I always like the challenge of going against guys who are pitching well, but I really don't concern myself too much with that. I'm facing that lineup, not the other pitcher.
Boston is a tough place to play...
Sell high on Timlin
So I'm watching the game and Timlin is pitching well. To be honest, he has pitched well for awhile now. Ever since coming off the DL, he has really has only had one hiccup at Seattle. So why am i selling on Timlin? He is getting extremely lucky. This is a perfect example of why stats are important. Timlin looks great but with what he is doing, he should be doing significantly...
Going out of town
Nothing to do with the Sox, just a message. I'm going to Canada for next next couple days, so i thought it might be a perfect chance to bring someone aboard as a guest writer. If this person succeeds, I'll keep him on the roster going forward. So for the half dozen people that actually read this site, if you are interested let me know. You can either leave a message hear...
Offerman charged with assault
Former Red Sox star, Jose Offerman, was charged with two counts of second degree assault after an incident that happened during Tuesday nights game. After being pitched at, Offerman charged the mound with bat in hand and swung at the pitcher, Matt Beech, breaking his right middle finger. He went to swing again but the catcher was able to spot it. In stopping it, the catcher took...
Bonds Might Sue Schilling?
Barry Bonds has put together a new legal team to explore the possibility of defamation suits against several individuals including Curt "I Care So Much" Schilling. Since when are lawyers PR reps?
In Key Spots, Manny Stays In Moment
So, what is Manny Ramirez [stats] thinking in the ninth inning, game on the line, men on first and second, with the Red Sox [team stats] down by a run? In other words, what was the slugger's thought process late Wednesday afternoon?
If anybody knows, it's Charlie Maher.
"As far as I'm concerned, Manny is at an elite level in terms of being able...
