PLAYERS: Kerry Wood
TEAMS: Chicago Cubs

While out at a party tonight I saw Kerry Wood?flipping somebody off at U.S. Cellular Field ? When?I got back from dinner ? damn if Hugging Harold Reynolds hadn't lassoed the video already (after the jump since RedLasso screws up the HRD main page) ? And really ? what is up with all the Cubs posts at [...]

Kerry Wood Says Hi To The Viewing Audience

The White Sox and Cubs were tied in the 7th inning today when FOX decided to go to a quick shot of Kerry Wood. Well Wood had a message for the viewing audience....I don't think there has ever been a more perfectly timed shot of an MLB player in the history of television. Good work FOX and a great job by you Thom Brennaman playing it off.Kerry Wood Salutes You (Hugging Harold Reynolds)

Sox, fans getting under Cubs’ skin

Turns out the Cubs aren't that perfect after all. Last weekend, the Cubs swept the White Sox at Wrigley and the perception seemed to be that the Cubs had proven they were the best team in baseball while the Sox were exposed as a mediocre team in a weak division. This weekend, the Sox are returned [...]

Deadline Pushed Back to 7/31 for Cubs/Wrigley Field Sale

The Tribune Co. has pushed back the deadline for bids on the sale Chicago Cubs and/or Wrigley Field from July 9 to July 31 amid concerns by prospective buyers that the rosy revenue projection figures within the 300-page financial “book” put together by Tribune are unrealistic. According to the Chicago Sun-Times (http://www.suntimes.com/news/metro/1025793,CST-NWS-cubs26...

Meet the Cubs: Derrek Lee

The Cubs are playing very well this year, possibly up to World Series caliber. Derrek Lee has been the leader in the clubhouse, but could his playing difference at home and on the road be his downfall?

Pick Baltimore’s 2008 Meathook All-Star

During last night's O's-Cubs game, MASN put up a graphic asking fans to support three players in particular for All-Star selection: Brian Roberts, Nick Markakis and ? wait for it ? Melvin Mora. Yes, the same guy whose OBP is under .300 and who hasn't been any damn good since '05. Then play-by-play man Jim [...]

Cubs get blown out

It hasn't happened very often this year, but Jason Marquis pretty much sucked today and by the 5th or 6th inning the Cubs were down 11 runs. The final was 11-4 and other than that, I'm not going to get into any specifics. It sucked, but games like that happen and the Cubs still won 4 of 6 on the home stand.

Jersey of the Week - FUKUTHOME

Jim Thome fan? Kosuke Fukudome fan? What jersey should I get? Oh hell ... give me FUKU-THOME across the back.

Pinella to Replace Randolph at All-Star Game

Cubs manager Lou Pinella has been asked to replace Willie Randoph on the NL coaching staff at next month's All-Star game. When originally overlooked, he said he was fine with that because it meant he could go home to Florida for a few days for some relaxation but he said he is equally glad to be Randolph's replacement because it will be his last chance to go to Yankee Stadium.

A few new blogs

Thanks to Wrigleyville23 for pointing out a "new" Cubs blog, Towel Drills. I like the name. Fire Bob Brenly has been up and running for a few days now and most of you have seen the link on the navbar or the articles on the sidebar, but it's an ACB sanctioned site so check it out. Fire Bob Brenly, or FBB for short, will also be the site to use if ACB is down for awhile...
