Is The Moose Cooked?
Coming off two disappointing starts against the Angels and Tigers Mike Mussina had a lot to prove last night then proceeded to get stomped for six runs in three innings in Detroit.
Before the start Mussina was asked if he was worried about loosing his spot in the rotation and mockingly replied to the NY Post, "Who would they replace me with?"

The Kennedy Clan Comes To The Bronx
Mike Mussina's out! Ian Kennedy will make his Major League debut this weekend against the Devil Rays. I really don't know anything about Kennedy, aside from the fact that he's highly touted by the Yankees. But the fact that they're going with Kennedy over Kei Igawa speaks volumes to me:
John Sterling is capable of criticizing the Yankees?
Radio announcer John Sterling pointedly, and almost unbelievably, criticized the New York Yankee starting pitching Sunday. He stated flatly that the starting pitching, especially Hughes (2-2, 5.35 ERA), Roger Clemens (5-5, 4.34) and Mike Mussina (8-9, 5.22) , was not consistent enough to pitch the Yankees to the playoffs. For the rah-rah Sterling it was an amazing departure from the norm.

The history books will try to tell you the '27 "Murderers' Row" Yankees were fueled by the likes of Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Earle Combs, Tony Lazzeri, and Bob Meusel but don't go believing that blatant propoganda.
It was all about a young man from my hometown that made the magic happen.
IPK another signal of new Yankee era
IPK is coming to the Bronx! The arrival of 2006 No. 1 pick Ian P. Kennedy to replace Mike Mussina in the New York Yankees rotation is another sign of the new Yankee era. It's also bad news for the rest of baseball.
