Holliday
The man who helped Matt Holliday wear the goat horns for the St. Louis Cardinals appears in today's episode of POTD! James Loney started the wild finish that allowed the Dodgers to steal a 3-2 victory in Game 2 against the Cards yesterday at Dodgers Stadium.  His sinking liner was played like a grenade with the pin pulled out by Holliday and that jumped the two-run rally in the ninth that allowed Joe Torre and company to head to Missouri up 2 games to nothing.

Holliday Has a Legit Point, Even If I Don't Agree

Cardinals' left fielder Matt Holliday made a very costly error in the 9th inning that helped give the Dodgers a 2-0 lead in their best-of-five series. Not At-Game Recap: 2009 NLDS Game 2: Vin Takes Me Home

It seems like only a minority of SoSG readers can appreciate this, but I couldn't share the joy of being at Thursday's incredible come-from-behind 3-2 victory at the Stadium. I was apparently the only guy in LA that had to work. And "watching" this game via mlb.com's gameday was incredibly painful. What served as a reasonable substitute for television over...

Playoff Notes: Holliday, Pedro, Scully

Good to see Matt Holliday embracing the spirit of the 2009 Mets in yesterday’s game against the Dodgers. Of course, you had to feel for him- he also did homer in the game, and Ryan Franklin subsequently melted down completely, instead of bailing out Holliday. Still, this will reinforce the commonly-held perception that Holliday is a [...]
