Mark Prior: Chicago Cubs Enigma

When Mark Prior was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in 2001 he was heralded as the player who would take the Cubs to the World Series. Following his stellar 2003 season (18-6 record) it seemed like the Cubs had the next Jim Palmer. Four years later, and with only 18 more wins, Cubs fans are left wondering what will become of Mark Prior.

It seems so obvious now, but when Prior was tearing it up, the press was going nuts how the Yanks were so dumb not to sign him out of High School, and the Twins for passing on him for Joe Mauer. How the universe rights itself so quickly and puts the Cubs back in their place. And don't forget the trade for Dontrelle Willis for Matt Clement a few years ago.

Please....don't remind me!

How's he doing in spring training?

He's struggling quite a bit. I know his walks are really high and so is his era. He's supposed to pitch tomorrow I believe

Still has both arms though, right? Gotta think positively

You better knock on wood (no,not Kerry) That arm might not be there much longer if all this keeps up. They might have to change Tommy John surgery to Mark Prior injury.
