  he's never been a power hitter but is a great SS, won the gold glove a few times, a good contact hitter, and should definitely be in the hall

  If Omar Vizquel is in, then Roberto Alomar should be in too. The Hall of Fame is only statistically biased if the player is average at best defensively or so that is what it seems. I'd have no problems with Vizquel being in, but wouldn't be shocked if he falls short year after year.

    Probably you do not know he is the best defense short stop ever in the MLB.... so he MUST be in the hall after his retirement

  Regardless if Omar is a HOF, Roberto Alomar is. And Vizquel is a better hitter than Smith was according to the stats, and has just passed him in most defensive categories, minus the 13 total gold gloves, but hopefully he'll claim one this yr. over Tulowitzki. Either way, the best defensive SS since Ozzie Smith, 11 Gold Gloves, and even at age 40, he still outplays the youngsters, he's hall of fame bound.

  Omar i s SUPER worthy of being HOF because he has the best feilding percantage in the history of baseball HISTORY!!!!. So what if he dosent have 500 homruns neither did honus wagner he got 299 homerus .Actually he has better percantege then Ozzie, derek jeter,wagner and other grest shotstops so hes goin to coperstown!!!!!!!!

  Short stop is the most important defense position in baseball, as well as the most difficult to play, so considering (see stats: number of DP completed, chances, fielding %, games, errors, etc.) that Omar Vizquel is the best defense SS in the history of baseball, there should not be any doubt that he will be a HOF.

  Yes defiantly, there is only 1 person in MLB history to get more Gold Gloves at SS then Vizquel which is Ozzie Smith, though they should be tied, Rollins only got the Gold Glove last year because of his offensive numbers same with David Wright. Omar Vizquel is to defense as Barry Bonds is to Offense. If Omar doesn't make it in to the HOF on first ballot, that will just confirm my belief that the HOF is a sham.

  To watch him play his position was thereson to go to ball games in Cleveland. No one better, no one.
  HOF worthy? They'd be lucky to have him as a draw.
