Tim Redding fits the typical #5 starter perfectly with a .500 record and an ERA between 4.50 and 5. I still do not see us getting Perez or Lowe, even though the odds have increased in our favor. I have a gut feeling Roy Halladay will be acquired sometime in mid to late January. The Jays are having financial problems and have already made BJ Ryan, Vernon Wells and others available, its just a matter of time before Halladay will be available as well. Just like in Jake Peavy's case with the Padres it doesn't make sense for a team that will not be winning anytime soon to hold on to an ace when they can fill multiple holes by dealing him. In Halladay's case it makes even more sense to deal him. Halladay will be 32 in May, he is entering the later years of his prime. The window of opportunity for him to be a major piece of a championship team may be starting to close. This comment was promoted to an entry by Joe D. Have something you want to say?
