Found March 29, 2009 on Dom D's Mets Fan Blog:

The New York Mets (13-13) travel to Ft. Lauderdale today to face the Baltimore Orioles (11-16) in Grapefruit League play. Mike Pelfrey (1-1, 5.09) is scheduled to start for the Mets. Game time is 1:05 PM EST, and you can follow the live box score at MLB.com.

Here's the lineup for the Mets:

Marlon Anderson, lf
Luis Castillo, 2b
Jeremy Reed, cf
Fernando Tatis, 3b
Ryan Church, dh
Nick Evans, 1b
Bobby Kielty, rf
Brian Schneider, c
Alex Cora, ss

Mike Pelfrey, sp

No doubt, this lineup is to help Jerry Manuel determine who wins the final bench spots. My guess is that it comes down to either Bobby Kielty or Nick Evans, since Marlon Anderson has been very solid this spring and he has always been a clubhouse favorite.

Either way, somebody is going to Buffalo before Livan Hernandez is called up to make his first start with the Mets.

As always, Let's Go Mets!

A Cooked Bird: The Orioles Turkeys of 2007…

Well, being that we are in the holiday season, and Thanksgiving is around along corner with Black Friday, where everyday sane people go all psychotic for deals on toys and stuff that they will use for a week and forget about, the Baltimore Orioles have been a source of entertainment along with a lot of pain. That being said, I want us all here to pick the 'Oriole Turkey'...

Tampa Bay Rays vs. Baltimore Orioles; Balto., Md - April 29th, 2008

So far, so good for the Baltimore Orioles in their brief trip back home. Finally, Baltimore brought out the whooping sticks as Aubrey Huff led the barrage with a two run homer to beat the Rays, 7-4, last night at the Yard. Melvin Mora drove in a pair of runs while Luis Hernandez went 2-for-4 with two runs scored for the Orioles. Garrett Olson (1-0), who was called up from the...

Today's game...funny story

Months ago I bought tickets to today's Red Sox game against the Baltimore Orioles. I don't get to Fenway Park nearly as often as I'd like, so I was looking forward to it. Then a friend told me he was getting married on 10/1, so I gave the tickets to my cousin. My cousin's daughter had some importan...

Orioles Announcers Flew The Coop During Game

OK, so it hasn’t been easy being a Baltimore Orioles fan. Stuck in an AL East with the Yankees, Red Sox & Rays leaves no room for enjoyment. And it’s not like the O’s have given fans any recent reasons to remain positive. Of course, what can you expect from a club whose own radio announcers [...]

From the Houston Chronicle’s Jose De Jesus Ortiz : The Astros have acquired slugger Miguel Tejada from the Baltimore Orioles for a package that includes outfielder Luke Scott, Matt Albers, Troy Patton, third base prospect Mike Costanzo and perhaps another player, a person with knowledge of the...

The Sock Belongs in the Hall, but Schilling Doesn’t

In the final week heading up to the MLB season opener, it seems as though the only player being discussed more than Alex Rodriguez is Curt Schilling. Whether or not you believe that he’ll actually stay retired is a topic in and of itself, the debate here is whether or not he’s a Hall [...]

Bowman leading the league....

Had it not been for back injuries, Mets fans may not have been clamouring for Daniel Murphy or Nick Evans but instead it could have been Shawn Bowman. Entering the 2005 season Bowman was the Mets top third base prospect ( seventh overall), unlike most recent infield prospects Bowman was a stellar defensive player with a decent bat. In fact a few years ago it was conceivable that...

Reds Add To Pre-Spring Training Roster

On Friday, the Reds acquired 24-year old outfielder Jeff Fiorentino, claiming him off waivers from the Baltimore Orioles. Fiorentino was originally drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2004 in the 21st round (631st overall). He didn’t sign a contract, instead he enrolled in Florida Atlantic Univ...

AL Division East: OWNED!

Thank you, Baltimore Orioles! (and thank you Boston Red Sox)So that's what a berth looks like.

See you at the game!

I am a Boston Red Sox junkie. I am buying Red Sox tickets like every weekend. I just have to be at the game to enjoy it these days. There really is nothing like watching my team from atop the green monster. That 10-3 win over the Baltimore Orioles last night was beautiful!

Felipe Lopez?

From The Washington Times: Second baseman Felipe Lopez said last week he would not accept a role on the bench, and the Baltimore Orioles and Chicago Cubs are among the teams who have expressed interest in acquiring the 2005 All-Star. I can't believe it... just one more week until opening day! There's a lot of little things here and there to report this morning, and rather than inundate you with a half dozen little posts, I'll get all of you caught up on the latest.
