How the Hell Did No One Block the Kazmir Deal?

On friday night I turned on ESPN and saw "Angels Negotiating with Rays to acquire Scott Kazmir". In a baseball world where little more will shock me, my jaw went to the floor. How the hell did Scott Kazmir go through waivers all the way to the Angels? This makes absolutely positively no sense to me. The Price for Kazmir

David Price’s control keeps getting better as he walked one Tiger in 7 1/3 innings Saturday afternoon as the Rays down the Tigers 2-1. That’s 12 walks in his last nine games. It’s the type of control Scott Kazmir never showed for very long. It’s somewhat impressive that the Rays could come [...]

Kazmir has been one of the best pitchers in the league since he took over full time in Tampa Bay's rotation. Until 2008, Kazmir was pretty much the lone bright spot on the Devil Rays (then...
