Baseball Pretends To Be Appalled By Prince Fielder's Home Run Celebration
Prince Fielder and his Brewers teammates, who celebrated Sunday's walk-off victory over the Giants with a little Jerome Robbins number, now stand accused of excessive immodesty by the Holy Church of Baseball People Who Need To Lighten The Hell Up. Watch the video below. Everyone agrees it's funny. But then everyone hastens to add that such a thing is just not done in baseball...

Hunter : Fielder’s HR Celebration Was Crushworthy
When a man shaped like a bowling ball performs a spot-on impersonation of a bowling ball after hitting a game-winning HR, who can begrudge him a good time? Perhaps the SF Giants, who having already been angered by Prince Fielder’s choreographed routine on Saturday, were steaming over Adrian Gonzalez’ antics on Sunday. While [...]

Townie’s Heroes: Starring Prince Fielder as Tony Gwynn Jr.
The best and the worst of my sports baseball weekend. My heroes. My enemies.
Top Three Heroes
1. Seth Smith
The Rockies’ undisputed best hitter is Seth Smith. Don’t believe me? Try chewing on these numbers from the Rockies three-game sweep of Arizona.
9-for-13, 3 HR, 4 doubles, 9 RBI, and 5 Runs.
Still not convinced? Ask Tim Lincecum, Jeremy Affeldt, Homer Bailey...
Full count: Prince eyes 'Coop'
Prince Fielder blasted a two-run home run in the first inning Tuesday, giving him 125 runs batted in, one off the franchise mark of 126 held by Cecil Cooper set in 1983. Fielder is also trying to become the first Brewer to lead the majors in RBI since Cooper did it in 1983 and before that with 122 RBI in 1980. Fielder leads the majors, four ahead of St. Louis Cardinals slugger Albert Pujols.
Awesomeness Beyond Awesomeness
Something I heard about but forgot to mention yesterday: the fall-over-backwards reception Prince Fielder got on his walkoff home run. Some of the Giants objected.

As if the Brewers jersey untucking after wins wasn’t enough of a joke. Listen, I am all for a little bit of cockiness in baseball. Aramis Ramirez and Alfonso Soriano certainly do their part, but Prince...
