The plan is for Alex Rodriguez to be in the Yankees lineup as the third baseman Friday night in Baltimore, the New York Post has learned. A conference call was scheduled between Rodriguez and members of the Yankees front office for Thursday afternoon, and A-Rod was going to tell the organization how he felt and what his preference was for when to return from hip surgery.

Jamie Moyer has historically not done well against the Mets; today, however, was a total massacre. I’m talkin’ a George Romero, Stephen King, Wes Craven-type massacre. I’m sick tonight so I’m not going to be watching the end of this game. It’s the top of the 8th inning and the Cubs lead 6-1. The Cubs scored 4 runs in the 1st inning. Reed Johnson had a bases clearing 3-RBI triple that inning an then came around to score on a passed ball.

The off-season money the Yankees spent on pitching has not been working-out for them so far, both Burnnet and Sabbathia both have ERA's over 4, and have combined for 3 wins in 12 starts.
