Word just broke the Jays have signed Alex Rios to a one year deal to avoid arbitration. The deal is said to be worth $4.385 Million. Alex had his best year with the Jays this past season posting career highs in home runs with 24, RBI's with 85 and had a batting average of .297.

After looking things over I've come to one conclusion: The Jays World Series rosters were stacked!

The Detroit Tigers have agreed to terms on a 5-year contract extension with stud center fielder Curtis Granderson. This is a fantastic deal. I'll go into why. The Pittsburgh Pirates extend Freddy Sanchez, giving the second baseman a two-year deal with an option. I'm not a huge fan of this deal, but if they trade Sanchez, this will be a great deal.
