George Kottaras hit a solo home run to right field but it wasn't enough as Boston's second comeback of the night fell just short in a 7-6 loss to Seattle.
Trailing 5-3 in the eighth, Nick Green helped the Red Sox rally hitting a two-run double to left field tying the game up at 5-5 before Seattle took the lead for good in the 11th with a Rob Johnson two-run double.
Tim Wakefield got a no decision pitching 8 innings allowing five runs on 10 hits, no walks and three strikeouts.
