Three wins in four tries. Ryan Schimpf went 4-4 with a home run to lead Auburn to victory. TJ Beam pitched well as Las Vegas won. And the GCL Jays won a slugfest 12-11, Michael Crouse is heating up and he added four more hits in this game. New Hampshire took the only loss for the affiliates as a two out error in the ninth proved costly. Brad Emaus however hit a home run and had three RBI's. Dunedin and Lansing did not play.
Round Rock 1 Las Vegas 5TJ Beam had an excellent start, he went seven innings and just allowed the one run on five hits. With Cecil and Rzepczynski about to be shut down it wouldn't be a surprise to see Beam promoted in September as he has been one of Las Vegas's best starters. Las Vegas scored a run in the fourth, two walks were followed by an RBI single by JP Arencibia. In the fifth Jason Lane led off with a double and later scored on a sac fly from newly promoted Adam Calderone. Las Vegas scored three runs in the eighth to cement the win. Buck Coa...

David Purcey Not Getting It Done
Late last night Robert MacLeod of the Globe & Mail posted this nugget of information:
With the Blue Jays readying to pull the plug in early September on rookies Brett Cecil and Marc Rzepczynski so as to not overtax their young arms unnecessarily, Gaston is not even sure as to the [...]
Jays Terrible Outfield D
With the trading of Rios and the ascension of Randy Ruiz the new look Jays outfield is Lind in LF, Wells in CF and Snider in RF. Good god, that’s such a terrible defensive alignment.
We all know about Vernon Wells troubles in CF. The man who’s an RBI away from 50 is still the MLB’s [...]
Blue Jays pitcher Brett Cecil makes all-time bonehead error
Toronto celebrated the 20th anniversary of Rogers Centre earlier this season.American dollars to Canadian doughnuts, I guarantee the two-base error rookie left-hander Brett Cecil(notes) made against the Red Sox on Thursday night was the strangest in the history of the former Skydome. It might even take the otherwise promising Blue Jays pitcher another 20 years to live it down.After...
Lethal Lansing
Two wins in seven games. It seems relatively typical for the way things are going right now with this organization. One of the wins came in Las Vegas behind David Purcey and the other came behind a big night at the plate for Lansing. Tim Collins took a rare loss in New Hampshire and Dunedin lost a twin bill. Meanwhile, Auburn suffered another loss and the GCL Blue Jays fell apart...
Blue Jays recall OF Snider, demote INF Inglett
The Toronto Blue Jays recalled outfielder Travis Snider from Triple-A Las Vegas before Tuesday night's game against Boston. Manager Cito Gaston said the former first-round draft pick will likely play every day for the remainder of the season.
Toronto Blue Jays: A Conversation Between Roy Halladay and His Body
We enter the Toronto Blue Jays clubhouse. Roy Halladay is watching game film of his last start against the Boston Red Sox. It is 3 a.m. and the only other person in the room is a drunken John McDonald who is trying to catch self-tossed, beer bottle, pop fly's. He snags every. Single. One.
Roy Halladay: Well, that wasn't a great start last night. I can do much better, nay, I WILL...
Big Man on Paper
On paper, tonight's match-up between Magic Roy Halladay and Li'l Clay Buchholz--perhaps the only guy in the world who makes Bronson Arroyo look Ebert-esque--doesn't look good for us Sox fans. But I have a strange feeling that Clay is coming up huge tonight. That the emotion of facing the team that coveted him three short weeks ago may help mess up Halladay's mojo. And that he'd like...
Roy Halladay is Human After All
The desire for winning may be the only relevant thought in the mind of Roy Halladay when he's on the mound, but despite his impenetrable exterior, he didn't look like a machine for once.Halladay (also known as the T-32) departed from his usual cyborg-like self and was roughed up for five runs in just five innings of work.
Aside from his injury-shortened game back on June 12 against...
Clay pigeons
Up until Tuesday night, when he caught a glimpse of Ricky Romero’s name as that evening’s Toronto starter, Clay Buchholz thought he had avoided his recent fate. He thought he would be pitching in this series against Romero, a pitcher having a good year, but certainly not having a year the caliber of Roy Halladay’s.
Mashed Baseballs
Nobody in Hollywood could have written Travis Snider's return any better.
He hit a home run in his first at bat back with the Blue Jays along with a single on the evening, Snider was 2 for 4 in his major league return and sent a big message to any doubters and naysayers.Randy Ruiz hit his third home run in less than a week, making that eight hits in the span of just 25 at bats already...
Bay hits 2-run HR, Red Sox beat up Halladay, Jays
