Manny wouldn't know the difference. Ship him to Green Bay, have 'new' manager Mike McCarthy hold a morning meeting explaining to Manny that the rules and strategy of baseball have been completely modified. He'll be excited as if he were in gym class and it was a new school week and was time to move on and play a different sport. And playing in Wisconsin, he's certainly guaranteed to lead the league in snow angel production, definitely this kind maybe even of this sort. As far as Favre and the Packers go, it's a win-win. He gets traded out of conference and to a contender and when it comes to men who are revered for playing like children, there's simply now way Favre doesn't at least equal David Eckstein's production. You're looking at a rich man's Joe McEwing at worst.

Favre Talked to Childress

Brett Favre admitted in an interview with Sports Illustrated that he indeed spoke to Vikings coach Brad Childress this off-season, but said he often text-messages and speaks with opposing coaches and players during vacation.  He flatly denied any tampering or tampering-like activities by the Vikings: I have no qualms about admitting I talked to them. Talking with Milt [Ahlerich...

Brett Favre:A Nation Held in Crisis Day...Too Damn Many

As the Brett Favre saga continues to drag along but there has been a breakthrough. Brett faxed his reinstatment letter to the Packers today. That means the ball is in Green Bay's court. Either they have to release Brett (which they dont want to do) or put him on the active roster. It looks like Dan Patricks prediction that Brett will be at Packers camp Wednesday morning is about...

Everything Is Right In The World, Emmitt's Back!

Just when I thought there was no hope and that we were going to spend the rest of the summer in a Brett Favre induced coma, Emmitt swoops in to rescue us! Here Emmitt talks about people who fall harder, getting hurt more and the Dallas Cowboys. Enjoy!"Some guys fall hard, some guys learn how to fall. The Latest on the Favre Sweepstakes

For a man that was relatively unknown coming out of college Brett Favre sure had a great run during his 16 NFL seasons. And it will be 17 if he has his way, but the situation is completely out of his control at this point. Favre is threating to return to ...

Brett The Jet

As always, SportsAgentBlog.com attempts to follow up on all previous posts and information that we have passed on. On that note, here is the latest from the Brett Favre saga in Green Bay. A source has told Chris Mortensen that the New York Jets have officially received permission to talk to retired Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre. The Jets and the Tampa Bay Bucs have...

McCarthy Speaks

Yesterday, head coach Mike McCarthy had a press conference and answered many questions.  Mostly about Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers is the starting quarterback for the Green Bay Packers. That has been stated over and over again. I hope we can finally understand that. That's where we are as an organization; that's where we are as head coach of the Green Bay...

Garcia Speaks Out About Rumors of Favre Coming to Town

There is one player that is not buying into the Brett Favre going to Tampa Bay hype - and that is current starting QB Jeff Garcia.  The veteran leader of the Bucs, and Pro Bowler from a season ago, spoke today for the first time about the rumors that continue to swirl that Favre will find his way to Tampa Bay - thus pushing Garcia to the bench, or possibly off the roster all together...

David Eckstein A Met at $9 Million Per Year???

This is ridiculous. I like David Eckstein, as he's a good, scrappy ballplayer; however, in a seminar I took with Bill Ripken this winter, he noted that the infielder had, "no tools, but manages to make it work"... Well, Mr. Eckstein wants to get paid. From the New York Daily News: Eckstein, the 2006 World Series MVP at shortstop, apparently is looking for...

Mike McCarthy Stands Up to the Bully

Thank God, finally someone within the Packers organization is sticking it to he who must not be named.  A day after Brett Favre "threatened" to show up at Packers training camp, Mike McCarthy issued the vote of confidence in Aaron Rodgers that everyone was hoping for.  He's the guy in 2008 for the Packers and [...]

Garcia Arrives At Bucs Camp

With the Brett Favre rumors still circulating, Jeff Garcia reported to training camp last night for the Buccaneers at Disney's Sports Complex.  Garcia was excused from the first two days of camp to attend a junior college reunion.  He is expected to participate in this morning's practice.  Receiver Joey Galloway sat out yesterday's practice with a groin strain. ...

Finally A Solution To The Manny Problem

Trade Manny for Brett Favre! That is the great solution that the guys at Trico Suave came up with, along with these brilliant photoshops. Here's their reasoning. Manny wouldn't know the difference. Ship him to Green Bay, have 'new' manager Mike McCarthy hold a morning meeting explaining to Manny that the rules and strategy of baseball have been completely modified...

Play fill-in-the-blank with Aaron Rodgers

Aaron Rodgers reacted earlier today after learning from Chris "Ribbit" Mortensen that Brett Favre had faxed his reinstatement letter to the NFL while simultaneously passing some noxious Sheboygan Brat gas in his living room. Exciting shit. Well we took a...

Ye of the Slanty-Straight Brim: One of Baseball's Great Mysteries

It's one of baseballs' great mysteries. The examples are few and far between. But they are there, and they are unmistakable. No doubt you've seen one. During tonight's All-Star Game, it was Edinson Volquez. My most memorable was Mike Cameron, as a member of the New York Mets. No matter where these men travel, their distinctive and completely inexplicable style...
