It didn't happen on Thursday, how could this be, they're the Yankees? It happened because the Angels finally played like the Angels. They got out to a lead for the first 6 innings and were able to hold the Yanks in check. They fell behind but didn't panic, answering right back with 3 runs of the...

Is This Hubris, Or Did They Play Game 6 And Not Tell Anyone?

You'd think this would be a bigger story. Apparently they decided to play baseball last night after all, and the Yankees won. Huh. Look, I know Andy Pettitte is a big game pitcher and all, but can we avoid taunting the baseball gods with hastily printed, prematurely advertised merchandise? The lads at TheMikeFrancesa.com stumbled across this treasure trove of bad juju today,...

Ben Reiter: Odds are in the Yankees' favor with Pettitte on the hill for Game 6

The Yankees have to like their chances of advancing to their 40th World Series, especially with battle-tested Andy Pettitte taking the hill in Game 6 of the ALCS, writes Ben Reiter.

What the cancellation means

Since the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Angels are playing Sunday, that means Andy Pettitte gets his usual five days rest. A.J. Burnett is available out of the pen tomorrow night. The rain out stopped the Angels’ momentum since they were feeling pretty good about themselves. If there is a game seven, John Lackey will start [...]

Game 6 of ALCS Postponed

If you were waiting for your baseball fix on Saturday, you ended up disappointed. Due to rain, Game 6 of the ALCS between the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Angels was postponed. The ballgame will now take place on Sunday at 8:20 PM EST. The Yankees lead the series 3-2 and need just one more win to make it to the World Series. ALCS: Rainy days and (maybe) Mondays

The decision by MLB to postpone tonight's scheduled Game 6 at Yankee Stadium would appear to be to the advantage of the Los Angeles Angels, who would be in a position to bring back ace John Lackey on Monday if they can defeat Andy Pettitte tomorrow night and extend the series. Yankees manager Joe Girardi has decided to stay with Pettitte in Game 6 instead of going back to...

Saunders is relieved to see Game 6

Joe Saunders is the scheduled starter for the Angels Saturday night and he is all fired up. Saunders, 16-7 with a 4.60 ERA in the regular season, should have a full grasp of the gravity of the situation.

Girardi sticks with Pettitte for Game 6

Joe Girardi made another controversial decision Saturday night, one that could lead to massive second-guessing if the Yankees can't find a way to close out the ALCS. After Game 6 was postponed due to inclement weather, Girardi announced that he would stick with Andy Pettitte Sunday instead of starting CC Sabathia, who would have been pitching on regular rest.

Veteran hurler will try to close out Angels in Game 6 of ALCS

Weather or not, it's Andy in Game 6

With rain in the forecast Saturday night, Joe Girardi was asked if he would entertain the thought of skipping Andy Pettitte in Game 6 in favor of CC Sabathia.
