Hey there boys and girls, what's new? Not much here. My feet hurt and I have made a crapload of money today. Someone left a 10 dollar tip! :D Also we each got 10 dollars because we did over 100 in the span of an hour (like yesterday) so I made about 20ish or so today in tips. Yesterday sucked but we got 10 and then like...3. Tourists are ******* cheapskates it seems. Also I have come the conclusion that I hate the **** out of youth soccer. I went into work around 8:45am. So yeah. And now the Red Sox are done for the break. I'm glad. They need the rest especially teh bullpen. Beckett ended his half with a flourish, spinning a 3 hit shutout. It was a good game from what I heard since I only caught the bottom of the 8th and top of the 9th. Bates had 3 hits which was cool and I hear Clay is starting the Friday game? I can dig it. So what do I have to say on the first half? It was a pretty good half. I should probably grade first half performances:Starting PitchingJosh Beckett: Be...

Royals muster little against Beckett in 6-0 loss to Boston
BOSTON | Even before the game, all signs Sunday pointed to the Royals enduring a long afternoon. They ran out what might be their most run-challenged lineup, by including Tony Peña and Mitch Maier, against Boston ace Josh Beckett. And they had soft-tossing lefty Bruce Chen seeking to contain a righty-heavy attack in the shadow of the Green Monster.

Sox End On A High Note
The Red Sox wrapped up the unofficial first half of the season yesterday with Josh Beckett pitching a complete game in a 6-0 shutout of the Kansas City Royals. All Beckett Needed Was One Run, But Red Sox Offense Gave Him Six
Since Josh Beckett graced Fenway’s mound, he has been the Boston Red Sox undeniable ace. During the 2005 off season, Beckett, then 25 and fresh off a 15-8 season with the Florida Marlins, was traded to the Red Sox for top-prospect and current Marlins star shortstop Hanley Ramirez.
I didn’t know much about Ramirez, but he was heralded as a five-tool player near major...

All-Stars Inside the Numbers

Consider the following table:WHIP (walks and hits per inning pitched) reflects the pitcher's ability to prevent baserunners from reaching. K/BB (strikeout to walk ratio) tends to predict future ERA even better than current ERA. More dominant pitchers tend to...
