In Jeter's (hopefully short) absence who is going to replace him at short? That's the big question of the day. Tyler Kepner suggests the Yankees might move A-Rod over and start Morgan Ensberg at third. Jon Harper of the Daily News says Girardi shouldn't even think about A-Rod at short. I happen to agree with the latter. A-Rod hasn't played short since 2005 and hasn't started a game at short since 2003, when he was still a Texas Ranger. He may not be as comfortable there as he used to be................

New York Yankees catcher Jorge Posada is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Wednesday on his ailing right shoulder. Posada has already missed a few starts this year for the Bombers, and left today's game against the Kansas City Royals early due to the shoulder. According to Posada, his shoulder is "Dead, like you've got no strength."

Yankees have many questions with their pitching staff, but are considered wild card favorites because of their potent offense which is expected to score in excess of 1000 runs this season.
So where is all of this offense? So far this season they average only 2.8 runs per game and are on pace to score just 450 all season. This is 518 less than they scored last year with nearly the same lineup.
