Derosa
Mark DeRosa! Even when the guy isn’t on the team he’s still talking as long as reporters will hold a microphone in front of his face. What does this have to do with being a Cubs fan? Cubs fans eat that **** up. They love the cliches and all the other crap that someone like DeRosa talks about. A lot of fans talk about some players being full of ****. You want to know who is full of ****? Mark DeRosa. Point me to an honest answer from that man that doesn’t include some ridiculous cliche. You can’t find it. The guy was raised on Bull Durham and it’s embarrassing to be a Cubs fan because so many of them don’t even realize it. If you think the Cubs problems this year are that they don’t have Mark DeRosa, you’re an idiot. It’s that ******* simple!

Free Agent at the End of the Season: Joel Pineiro

It's a good time to be Joel Pineiro. After muddling around in the land of mediocrity for the past five years, Pineiro's 2009 season has been a revelation. Seemingly out of nowhere, Pineiro has catapulted himself from an average starting pitcher to the productive and sometimes dominant starter that so many envisioned him becoming when he began his career in Seattle. And Pineiro...

Chris Carpenter Is the National League Cy Young, Hands Down

After examining the seasons of the National League's top Cy Young candidates, one should have no qualms about granting the accolade to St. Louis' Chris Carpenter. The tall, hard-throwing righty has never, including his Cy Young season in '05, been so dominant. Carpenter's 2.34 ERA leads the National League and his WHIP is a ludicrous 1.007. Tim Lincecum, Matt Cain...

GameCast: September 19th at St. Louis

Ryan Dempster (10-8, 3.84 ERA) vs. Chris Carpenter (16-4, 2.45 ERA) Story-linesIt's the unluckiest man in baseball against the guy who should feel lucky to be healthy.  At the end of last season, Dempster's pending free agency status was the albatross in the room.  It's safe to say that any reasonable Cub fan knew he wouldn't duplicate his 17-win, 2.96...
