This is almost a half hour of footage of Barry Bonds taking on a Japanese comedian for some Japanese television show. You get to see some of Barry at his bulked up best, cranking balls left and right out of a small ballpark in California, beating the crap out of his opponent in a live action Baseball Board Game.
That alone is cool to watch but the amazing thing here is how much...

The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that San Francisco Giants catcher Eliezer Alfonzo, a member of the Club's 40-man roster, has received a 50-game suspension for testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance in violation of Major League Baseball's Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.
Money issues.

Let's get some things straight: 1) Zito was never a hard-thrower and while the decline in his velocity is concerning, it was an inevitability, although the Giants were hoping the decline would come later rather than now. 2) Zito has never had good command of his fast ball. Even when Zito was at his best with Oakland, he was walking between 78 and 99 batters per season from 2001...

According to the Toronto Star, the Blue Jays have signed reliever Armando Benitez to a minor league deal. He's apparently not in the closer picture (which makes sense, with B.J. Ryan and Jeremy Accardo good to go). Benitez, 35, struck out 57 in 50.1 innings last year with the Giants and Marlins...

ESPN's Buster Olney is reporting that the Yankees are taking a look at Jarrod Washburn. This is from MLBTR:
Washburn, 34 in August, has a 4.75 ERA in 110 innings this year. For what it's worth, he has a 3.03 ERA in 62.3 innings since May 25th. That's cherry-picking, though - 4.50-4.75 is Washburn's level. He can chew up 190 innings at the back end of a rotation.
