Big Papi didn’t waste anytime getting off the disabled list today. He spoke to the crowd right before the RedSox/Royals game in honor of all that has transpired this week in Beantown. Also it’s Fenway’s 101st anniversary today so emotions are everywhere. He thanked the first responders and the community for sticking together. But best part of his short speech was when Ortiz said on national television that:
“This is our (bleeping) city!”
Instantly, the RedSox Nation gave their beloved David a standing ovation! Take a look at the video.

following an eight-month layoff.
The Red Sox will be back in action on Saturday afternoon after an unplanned day off on Friday due to the manhunt that sent the Boston area into a lockdown.

I started writing some nonsense about how the Sox 4-3 victory over the Royals this afternoon was symbolic of the city of Boston in the wake of the Marathon tragedy. 'Never give up' and all that. But America's pastime is meant to be a reprieve from all of that. As a wrote this morning, this game was a great way to clear our minds of this...
The Red Sox weren’t expected by experts to be very good in 2013. That hasn’t stopped them in jumping out to a 10-4 start and grabbing first place in the American League East.
With the team exceeding expectations 14 games into the young season, NESN Nation’s Dan Duquette asked our Twitter followers what they think is the most surprising thing about the Sox this year. Check out...
Game 16: Red Sox win, 4-3. Seven in a row!
As a fan of Boston, and not just the Red Sox, this was one of those games you are excited for. On the heels of last night's manhunt, and having those all around Boston and the world hoping and praying for peace, the Red Sox played the Royals today in one of the most emotional baseball games I have ever witnessed. The Red Sox brought...
Coming off a frustrating weekend that saw that Red Sox drop two out of three from the Kansas City Royals, the Sox look to rebound with an upcoming three game series with the Oakland Athletics beginning on Monday night. Boston struggled last season vs. the Athletics by going only 1-8 against them, which included the Red Sox dropping two out of three at Fenway Park last April 30...

This weekend, the Kansas City Royals drew the unenviable task of being the first baseball team to play against the Red Sox in Fenway after the Boston Marathon attack. The weekend featured an emotionally charged atmosphere that included Neil Diamond appearing live to sing “Sweet Caroline” and a pre-game speech by Red Sox DH David Ortiz on Saturday. After blowing...
