There will be no arbitration hearings this year marking the first time in the 39 year history that no cases will be brought before an arbitrator. Darren O’Day was the final player, of 133, to agree to a contract with his team. O’Day and the Orioles finalized a two-year contract with the Baltimore Orioles worth $5.8 million. Previously the record low for hearings was three set in 2005 and matched in 2009 and 2011. In 1986 a record 35 cases went to hearings. The Orioles have a $4.25 million option for 2015 with a $400,000 buyout. The 30-year-old right-hander was 7-1 with a 2.28 ERA in 69 games last year.
