It's no secret that the Texas Rangers, who have the 14th pick in this year's MLB Draft, have kept a close eye on Brownwood right-hander Shelby Miller, a 6-foot-3, 207-pounder that has touched 98 mph with his fastball. Rangers president Nolan Ryan and general manager Jon Daniels both have watched Miller pitch. Miller, though, isn't exactly ready to settle for slot money, the recommended amount for each draft selection from Major League baseball. Miller said, as of now, he's looking for a $4 million signing bonus plus being added to the baseball scholarship program. "That's the number we tossed out, but whatever it ends up being, it is," said Miller, who throws a curveball and changeup, as well as his fastball.
