Found May 29, 2013 on The Outside Corner:
I don't even know what to say about Minnesota Twins center fielder Aaron Hicks' defense anymore. The 23-year old rookie made another amazing catch on Wednesday night on a sinking liner hit by Rickie Weeks of the Brewers. Look at him just lay out and snag a single away from Weeks with the greatest of ease. To top things off, Hicks came up in the top of the fifth inning for Minnesota and homered, as you see all too often in situations like this. [follow]

Twins Youth Movement Update

Well, the Twins are who we thought they were.  They're clearly lacking in the pitching department, but the offense that "isn't a problem" has kind of been a problem too. Rather than go over how much everyone sucks in the majors, let's look at some of the players that make up one of the deeper groups of prospects in major league baseball. Aaron Hicks No longer...

Twins Thursday: Plouffe returns to disabled list

MINNEAPOLIS Trevor Plouffe is heading to the disabled list. Again. On the same day the Twins third baseman was activated from the 7-day concussion DL, Plouffe injured his left calf during pregame warmups on Wednesday. He was scratched from the lineup and was not in the lineup Thursday. Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said Plouffe will land on the 15-day DL due to his strained calf...

Twins Wednesday: Colabello optioned, Plouffe reinstated

MINNEAPOLIS Chris Colabello's first stint in the majors was a brief one. The Minnesota Twins optioned the 29-year-old Colabello to Triple-A Rochester to make room for Trevor Plouffe on the 25-man roster. Plouffe was reinstated Wednesday from the 7-day concussion disabled list. He suffered the injury in Atlanta when he slid into second base and was kneed in the back of the head...

Twins agree: 7-day DL for concussions is a good thing

MINNEAPOLIS The Minnesota Twins have seen players go through concussions before. Most notably, Justin Morneau was sidelined for the second half of the 2010 season when he was hit in the head while sliding into second base in Toronto. With that image not yet faded from the Twins' minds, it was understandable for Minnesota to worry when a similar situation happened to third baseman...

Twins' starting rotation continues to struggle

MINNEAPOLIS All offseason, the Twins preached the importance of bolstering a starting pitching rotation that was among the worst in baseball in 2012. Through two months of the 2013 season, Minnesota is still near the bottom of many starting pitching categories. Prior to Thursday, Twins starters had a combined 5.64 ERA, tied with Houston for the worst in baseball. By comparison...

Plouffe's return should give Twins added boost

Playing with some confidence in their series against the struggling Milwaukee Brewers, the Minnesota Twins could get an added boost if one of their sluggers can return. The resurgent Twins will attempt to win four in a row for the first time since late April on Thursday night when they host Milwaukee, which is looking to avoid its longest skid of the season. Although third baseman...

Twins 1B Chris Parmelee makes catch while falling down camera well steps (video)

Chris Parmelee, subbing in for Justin Morneau at first base for the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday night for the team’s tilt with the Milwaukee Brewers at Target Field, made a spectacular play in the field, holding on to the ball while tumbling down the steps of the camera well along the first baseline. With two [...]The post Twins 1B Chris Parmelee makes catch while falling down...

Twins' rookie Colabello victim of jersey blunder

Chris Colabellos journey from the independent leagues to the major leagues is an inspiring one, but the Twins newcomer made a rookie mistake Tuesday in Milwaukee. The 29-year-old Colabello entered the game against the Brewers as a pinch hitter in the top of the ninth inning, replacing pitcher Jared Burton. Only one problem for Colabello, though: he was wearing the wrong jersey....

Minnesota Twins rookie Chris Colabello wears wrong jersey for game

Minnesota Twins rookie Chris Colabello was called up last week and has been batting very poorly, hitting 1 for 11 since his debut.  Things only got worse for him last night when he wore the wrong jersey in their game against the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday night.  Rather than wearing the jersey that said “Minnesota” in script on the front, he wore the one that said “Twins”...

Twins outfielder Chris Colabello wore wrong jersey

On Tuesday, the Minnesota Twins paid a visit to Miller Park to take on the Milwaukee Brewers in an Interleague clash.Naturally, the Twins wore their road jerseys with "Minnesota" appearing on the front. However, outfielder Chris Colabello didn't get the memo, and wore is home "Twins" jersey, instead.Colabello's mistake become apparent when he appeared...

Estrada, Brewers look to turn tables on Twins

The Minnesota Twins are back on track following their longest losing streak in two seasons. They still need to figure out how to win at home. Minnesota will try to end a season-high five-game skid at Target Field when its four-game series with the slumping Milwaukee Brewers continues Wednesday night. Since dropping 10 straight for their worst skid since an 11-game slide Sept....

Going...Going...Not Gone! Minnesota Twins Outfielder Aaron Hicks Robs Milwaukee's Carlos Gomez of Home Run

One of if not the coolest play for a team on offense has to be the home run. There is just something about being able to stand there and slowly jog to first as you watch the ball head into the stands. Of course when it comes to defense the coolest play has to be stealing a home run by making the last second grab before it clears the fence. Like Minnesota's Aaron Hicks did...
