Aceves
Did you really think you would go a full 24 hours without hearing about the #5 spot in the rotation? One year ago, he was on the opening day roster for the Pawtucket Red Sox and had no idea what the hell his role would be with Boston. This year, he is the front-runner for the final spot in the rotation.

Bogar expects six innings from Alfredo Aceves, who appears to have a leg up on the competition for a spot in the rotation.

Manager Bobby Valentine said that Vicente Padilla will work out of the bullpen and he appears to be taking Aceves' role as the multi-purpose reliever.

I would be fine with Aceves as the Sox fifth starter. Last season, Aceves started 4 games for the Sox, and went 1-1, with a 5.14 ERA over 21 innings. Well, that didn't help his case much.

We'll see how he does in his 6 possible innings of work this afternoon against the Phillies.
