Left-hander Jeremy Affeldt owns two World Series rings from his four seasons as a member of the San Francisco Giants. He'll have three more years with the team to attempt to add more jewelry. The Giants announced Wednesday that Affeldt, a free agent, signed a three-year, $18 million deal to remain with the reigning World Series champions. The sides agreed to terms Monday, and Affeldt subsequently passed a physical before the contract became official. Affeldt, 33, posted on his Twitter account: "So pumped to be back w my San Francisco family. 3 more yrs in the bay!" In 10 postseason appearances this year, Affeldt threw 10 1/3 scoreless innings. He allowed just five hits and three walks (one intentional) while striking out 10. In the regular season, Affeldt went 1-2 with three saves and a 2.70 ERA in 67 appearances. Affeldt has a 2.73 ERA, a 10-9 record and 10 saves overall with the Giants. He also was part of San Francisco's 2010 World Series title squad. Affeldt previously played for the Kansas City Royals, Colorado Rockies and Cincinnati Reds. Two other key members of the Giants are free agents, second baseman Marco Scutaro and center fielder Angel Pagan, and multiple media outlets reported that the team remains committed to re-signing both.
