It was a slow night for the Pirates prospects in the AFL, but Scottsdale won 5-3. **Matt Curry entered the game late, replacing Ricky Oropesa at first base. Curry went 0-for-1 at the plate. **Vic Black came in to pitch the ninth inning with a 5-3 lead. Black gave up one hit, but got three outs for his first save in the AFL. He needed just 12 pitches to get through the inning. The first out came against Anthony Rendon.
