New York Yankees right-hander Luis Severino is scheduled to see doctors Monday as a precaution after experiencing tightness in his shoulder, according to MLB Network's Jon Heyman.
Luis Severino is scheduled to see the doctor Monday after not feeling right to pitch last night in rehab game. Severino, rehabbing after Tommy John, suggested his shoulder felt tight. The message so far is that this is precautionary, but there’s clearly concern.

Severino was scratched Friday before what might have been his final rehab start with the Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Railriders. According to Dan Martin of the New York Post, Railriders manager Doug Davis told reporters that Severino "didn't feel right" during warmups.
Severino hasn't pitched for the Yankees since 2019 due to injuries. He underwent Tommy John surgery in February 2020 and then sustained a groin injury during a rehab start last June.
The 27-year-old is 42-26 in his five-year career with the Yankees and owns a 3.46 ERA, 1.151 WHIP and 589 strikeouts in 530 games. The Dominican native earned All-Star selections in 2017 and 2018 and finished third in Cy Young voting in 2017.
The Yankees are also missing Gerrit Cole and Jordan Montgomery, who are on the COVID-19-related injured list, and Corey Kluber and Domingo German, who are on the IL.
New York entered play Saturday third in the American League East with a 63-52 record, 7.5 games behind the division-leading Tampa Bay Rays.
