In the first week of May the Red Sox are ready for Plan B, but what was Plan A?

Oft-injured Aaron Cook will be at Fenway by Saturday. Alfredo Aceves is the team’s closer and Marlon Byrd is the starting centerfielder. This is Plan B for the Red Sox. When 2011 ended, many people believed that the Red Sox had a very talented team that had a terrible run of misfortune causing them to miss the playoffs. Certainly, they couldn’t start as poorly as they did in...

If only David Ortiz could run

There is no doubt that David Ortiz is the best designated hitter in the game. The guy can flat out rake. He is batting .371 with an on-base percentage of .426 and a slugging percentage of .670. Unlike a couple of years ago, there seems no safe place or way to pitch him. He is quick inside again. He works the count to his favor. He is just a great hitter. But there is only one other...
