TEAMS: Boston Red Sox, Atlanta Braves
After falling 4-1 last night, the Boston Red Sox look to get back on track tonight in the middle game of a three-game interleague set with the Atlanta Braves at historic Fenway Park.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. and will be broadcast on FOX to 15% of the country. For those of you who live in Connecticut like myself, the game will be shown on WCCT-20, the sister station of FOX 61. If you can't catch the television broadcast, you can always listen to it on the Red Sox radio network.
After a successful spot start his last time out, Franklin Morales will take the ball tonight for Bobby Valentine. In his previous 23 appearances (one start), Morales is 0-1 with a 3.14 ERA. He's made four career appearances against the Braves and is 0-1 with a 5.40 ERA (2 ER/3.1 IP)
Rookie Randall Delgado makes his 14th start of the 2012 season. In his previous 13 starts, Delgado is 4-7 with a 4.12. Tonight's marks his first career start against the local nine.

Aaron Cook Plans to Turn Heads In Return to the Red Sox With New Secret Weapon
BOSTON -- For the first time since May 5, Aaron Cook will start for the Red Sox. After recovering from a gash on his leg that required 11 stitches, the 33-year-old was purposely scratched from Saturday's start in Pawtucket to start Sunday's game against Atlanta in place of Clay Buchholz, who is battling an undisclosed illness. When Cook takes the mound at Fenway Park, expect...
LET'S MAKE A DEAL
Red Sox trading Youkilis soon
The Red Sox have been shopping Kevin Youkilis pretty hard and reportedly are close to dealing him to another team.
Red Sox place Buchholz on 15-day DL
The Boston Red Sox have placed right-handed pitcher Clay Buchholz on the 15-day disabled list Sunday due to what manager Bobby Valentine called a "gastrointestinal issue."
Valentine said Buchholz had gone to the hospital recently to deal with the problem and has not been with the team the past two days.
Boston is planning to activate Aaron Cook from the 15-day DL to start...
Kevin Youkilis' Final Moments With Red Sox 'Worked Out Perfectly' (Video)
There were feelings all day that Sunday afternoon's contest may have been the final game in a Red Sox uniform for Kevin Youkilis. That suspicion appeared to be confirmed after Youkilis took his final at-bat. A pinch runner was sent in, and Youkilis was welcomed at the dugout by his teammates and a roaring Fenway Park. It was later confirmed that Youkilis was traded to the White...
Dustin Pedroia's Three-Hit Game Could Be the Trigger Needed for a Hot Stretch
BOSTON –– This could the jumpstart that Dustin Pedroia needed. Since returning on June 5 –– after missing six games with a torn adductor muscle in his thumb –– Pedroia has sputtered at the plate, collecting just nine hits through 14 games heading into Saturday's 8-4 win over the Braves. But he finally exploded on Saturday, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs. In his second...
David Ortiz Complains to Reporters About Reporters Manufacturing Controversy (Video)
There has to be a little irony in the fact that David Ortiz took a chance to vent his frustrations about reporters drumming up controversy -- by going on a tirade to reporters, as he did Thursday. Well, rather than being a case of controversy begetting controversy, NESN.com's Didier Morais thinks that Ortiz's rant may have been a little more premediated than it seemed. Was...
Bobby Valentine Plans to Ride 'Hot Hand' At Third Base, Will Bench Kevin Youkilis For Now
BOSTON –– The indecision around third base has continued. In fact, the flip-flopping between Will Middlebrooks and Kevin Youkilis doesn't have any clarity. For the time being, Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine expressed his intention to ride the "hot hand" at third base. It starts on Friday with Middlebrooks, who will make his second straight start in the infield...
Morales Gets the WIN Over Braves!
Franklin Morales had his second spot start for Josh Beckett who is on the DL and once again he showed a lot of promise. I think a lot of people have Franklin Morales on their radar now that did not before, in a very good way.
Morales didn't have the best first inning, however he only allowed one run to score and settled down real well after that. Morales started the game...
Roger Clemens watches Red Sox game at Fenway Park (Video)
Roger Clemens returned to Fenway Park on Friday night as he sat in the front row of the Monster Seats to watch the Boston Red Sox play the Atlanta Braves.
Clemens, who pitched for the Red Sox between 1984 and 1996, was shown on the scoreboard before the start of the fourth inning and received a mix of cheers and boos. It was one of Clemens' first public appearances since...
Send Bobby Valentine Your Questions to Be Answered on 'The Bobby Valentine Show,' Tuesday, June 26
Bobby Valentine is now nearly halfway through his first season in Boston, and the results have been mixed. The Red Sox are still hanging around the .500 mark on the season, even amidst a bevy of injuries, and are hoping to improve on their inconsistent play as the likes of Carl Crawford, Jacoby Ellsbury and others return. David Ortiz has been the most consistent and dangerous Red...
Red Sox Already Benefitting From MLB's New Two Wild Card Format
We’re not yet to the halfway point of the 2012 season, but already the ramifications of baseball’s new two wild card format are starting to come in to focus -- and those changes may well benefit the Boston Red Sox. In years past, hanging around the .500 mark 70 games in to the season would have been time to hit the panic button, and set up some even more interesting decisions...
Red Sox News & Notes - 6/22
Don't look now folks but this "toxic" Boston Red Sox team is playing some good baseball right now.
The Red Sox rallied last night behind the "youth" of the organization for a 6-5 win over the Miami Marlins. The win gave the local nine a sweep of the three-game set with the Marlins and it was also their fifth straight win.
They now hold a one-game lead...

Sunday Red Sox Delight - 6/24
Given everything that's happening around the Boston Red Sox right now, you'd think they were about 10 games under .500. That's simply not the case.
After last night's 8-4 win over the Atlanta Braves, the Red Sox are still a last place team but are three games above .500 at 37-34. And as I said the other day, it's still too early to talk about the wild card...
Kevin Youkilis traded to Chicago White Sox
Youkilis to White Sox for Zach Stewart, who can start or relieve. Not sure if any other pieces. Don’t believe so.
— Gordon Edes (@GordonEdes) June 24, 2012
That’s one tweet from WEEI’s Rob Bradford and there are many more like it on Twitter. It looks as if Kevin Youkilis has been traded to the Chicago White Sox.
Everyone at Fenway Park from the moment the game started had...
