After a day off on Monday and before they head to the left coast for what seems like an eternity, the Boston Red Sox will host the San Diego Padres in a three-game interleague set beginning tonight at historic Fenway Park.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. The game will be broadcast on NESN in the Red Sox television market. If you live in the Padres television market, you can catch the game on Fox Sports San Diego. And if you can't catch the game on television, you can always listen on the 2013 Red Sox Radio Network.
John Lackey toes the slab for the 14th time in 2013. In his previous 13 starts, Lackey is 5-5 with a 2.99 ERA. His lone career start against the Padres came in 2011 at Fenway Park where he took the loss after allowing five runs in 3.1 innings of work.
Rookie Robbie Erlin makes his third start (fifth appearance) of the season for the Padres. In his previous four appearances (two starts), Erlin is 1-0 with a 3.60. Needless to say, this marks his first start against the Red Sox and at the Fens.
