AJ Hinch has funny comment about Carlos Correa home run
Oct 14, 2017; Houston, TX, USA; Houston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa (1) celebrates after hitting the game winning double in the bottom of the ninth inning during game two of the 2017 ALCS playoff baseball series against the New York Yankees at Minute Maid Park.  Thomas B. Shea-USA TODAY Sports

A.J. Hinch had a funny comment regarding Carlos Correa’s home run during Game 2 of the American League Championship Series.

During the fourth inning, Correa hit a ball to right field that just made it over the fence out of the reach of Aaron Judge. It initially appeared a young Astros fan may have interfered. However, after review, the home run stood, which gave Houston a 1-0 lead.

The moment led to many across the internet making reference to the Jeffrey Maier incident, which occurred during the 1996 ALCS between the Orioles and Yankees.

After the game, Astros manager A.J. Hinch joked he wanted to leave tickets for the young Astros fan.

Not much went the wrong way for the Astros on Saturday. There was Correa’s home run, Verlander’s dominant performance, and the way the final play of the game unfolded. It all added up to the Astros heading to New York with a 2-0 lead with Game 3 to take place on Monday.
