AL East Projected Pitching Rotations

By Michael Gorin, DSD MLB Writer AL East: Baltimore Orioles: 1. Jeremy Guthrie (11-14, 3.83 ERA last season) 2. Brian Matusz (10-12, 4.30 ERA last season) 3. Jake Arrieta (6-6, 4.66 ERA last season) 4. Brad Bergesen (8-12, 4.98 ERA last season) 5. Chris Tillman (2-5, 5.87 ERA last season) v. Justin Duchscherer (2-1, 2.89 ERA last season) v. Zach Britton (2.70 ERA in split season at AA and AAA) The Orioles rotation is by far the weak link of the team. Guthrie has quietly been one of the most consistent, albeit unspectacular, pitcher the last five years. Matusz and Arrieta have high ceilings, but have not posted very good numbers since joining the Orioles major league rotation. Tillman is likely to win the number five spot as Duschscherer has been dealing with injuries, and the Orioles would like Britton to have some more seasoning in the minors. Boston Red Sox: 1.
