Alex Merricks Signs Professional Contract With Gateway Grizzlies

Los Angeles, CA - March 25, 2008, XSM's first client, Alex Merricks, signs with the Gateway Grizzlies of the Frontier League for the 2008 season. The signing marks Alex's return to professional baseball. Alex Merricks was a 4th round selection in 2002 with the Minnesota Twins. After 3 seasons in the minors with the Gulf Coast League, Alex was released. He spent the last year training under the respected professional pitching coach, Tom House. Phil Warren, Manager of the Gateway Grizzlies, said, "I am excited to have Alex on board and look forward to watching him pitch this season." The Gateway Grizzlies report to camp on May 6, 2008 and play their home opener on May 21, 2008 against the Southern Illinois Miners at the GCS Ballpark in Sauget, IL. ###
