Welcome to Boston, A-Rod. Alex Rodriguez knew he was going to get a one-of-a-kind greeting at the Fens on Friday night as the Red Sox and Yankees kicked off their first series since Rodriguez’s return to baseball, but the Fenway Faithful were in especially good form once the game began. They had signs called Rodriguez “A-Roid” and “A-Fraud” and unleashed a resounding “You did steroids!” when he came up in the second inning. The best touch all night, though, was Rodriguez’s welcome in the first inning. Red Sox fans treated him to some of the loudest boos ever heard in America’s Most Beloved Ballpark. While the boos continued throughout the evening, the first rendition was the most stirring of all. Check out the boos below, then take a look at some nice sign-making below that. And remember, A-Rod doesn’t take it personally.
