Bonified: Sleeper 2012
Emilio Bonifacio enters 2012 the same way he entered 2011…without a lock on a position. Difference in 2012 is that we know it will be somewhere. Bonifacio can play anywhere outside of pitcher, catcher, and 1B, which makes him a 2012 fantasy sleeper. Oh yeah, don’t forget about the 50 steal potential. The light hitting utility player came into 2011 as a fantasy afterthought. After all, in 2010, the guy put up half his stats the first week of the season and was waiver wire fodder from there on. I’m not sure he’s the .296 hitter he was a year ago, but rest assured Ozzie will get him in the lineup, and probably in the 2 hole in front of Stanton and Sanchez. That could mean plenty of opportunities to steal bases and score runs. I think Bonifacio probably starts 4-5 games a week, all over the place, and can hit .280.
