Orioles second baseman Robert Andino says he wasn't tipping the location of pitches in Baltimore's game against the New York Yankees on Monday night. Andino and New York catcher Russell Martin had an angry exchange after the Yankees' 6-2 win. Andino hit a leadoff double off Mariano Rivera in the ninth inning and did not advance. Andino said Tuesday that Martin accused him of indicating to Baltimore hitters the location of Rivera's pitches. Andino said the disagreement was ''a misunderstanding'' and insisted he did no wrong. He said, ''I don't play like that.'' He said it was ''baseball stuff'' and that ''everything is cool now.'' Asked if he thought the Yankees might retaliate, Andino said, ''I don't know, I ain't a future teller.'' Orioles manager Buck Showalter said, ''You move on.''

Yankees got a win but there are still issues

Yankees finally got a win in 2012.... The New York Yankees finally got their first win, down in Baltimore beating the Orioles 6-2. No doubt that a win was needed because New York fans had hit panic, yesterday. Even my doorman, who never fails to have the Yankee game on the radio, said he could not listen after this past weekend. Well, now that those three long, losing days are history...

Should The Orioles Look At Brandon Allen?

The Orioles are not expected to get much production from first-base this year (again). Totally unrelated news... 26 year-old first-baseman Brandon Allen was just put on waivers by the Oakland A's. Allen, a big left-handed swinger, doesn't have a great deal of major league playing time; in 374 career plate appearances he's hit just .205/.291/.375 and struck out almost...

Their opponents on this day, April 11, were the Boston Red Sox. They were not rivals. The Highlanders, commonly called the Yankees but a year away from...
