GAME 66 - ANGELS AT DODGERS
LOS ANGELES – A Tim Salmon home run helped push the Angels to an early lead, but Jarrod Washburn gave up back-to-back home runs in the sixth and the Dodgers rallied for a 5-4 victory before 52,183 at Dodger Stadium.
Salmon’s two-run homer in the fourth inning off Dodgers starter Hideo Nomo gave the Angels a 2-0 lead. After the Dodgers scored in the bottom of the fourth, the Angels added two more on an RBI triple by Adam Kennedy and a successful squeeze bunt by David Eckstein to go up 4-1.
But Washburn surrendered a two-run homer to Eric Karros and a solo homer to Marquis Grissom to allow the Dodgers to get even.
Angels reliever Al Levine gave up an RBI single to Mark Grudzielanek in the seventh inning, which proved to be the difference. With the loss, the Angels missed another chance to catch the Mariners for the A.L. West lead.

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim second baseman, Howie Kendrick, is on pace to have the best season of his eight year career. Now, anyone would be happy with the season Kendrick is having when you look at his stats, which we will save for later in the article.
A follower of mine on Twitter today noted that they believed Kendrick should be a starter for the upcoming All-Star game. The...

Two season highs were matched tonight for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in their 11-3 victory over the Seattle Mariners. The final line on the scoreboard in right field had the Angels with 21 hits, and on the left field side, had 11 K’s, nine of those coming from Jason Vargas, a season high for the young talent.
Jason Vargas allowed just four hits and two runs, that could be...

The Los Angeles Angels h ave signed right-handed reliever Mike Ekstrom to a minor league deal and have assigned him to Triple-A Salt Lake.
Ekstrom, who had severely struggled with the Oakland Athletics at the Triple-A level in 2013 provides depth for the organization.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) -- Erick Aybar homered and drove in two runs, and Albert Pujols added two more RBIs in the Los Angeles Angels' 6-2 victory over the Yankees on Saturday night that sent New York to its fifth straight defeat.

The pinstripes need to check their bats for holes. The New York Yankees, for a better lack of a term, are absolutely awful right now. Many in the sports world are happy about this due to their hatred for the “Yanks” but it’s becoming a serious issue for New York, and they fell for the fifth day in a row, this time at the hands of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, by a final...

Mike Trout - With the week he just had, the Angels should see to it that his entire extended family attends every single one of his games. I imagine giving him a fat contract extension would allow for him to pay for that himself. Sounds like a win-win...
During the recent draft, I happened to be on vacation, and even though I love this game and I LOVE prospects, there isn’t much that could take my focus away from my wife, the Atlantic waves and a cocktail. Still, I’d done some homework before the draft on some players and did a little more digging following the draft as well. We here at MWAH do our best to talk to the right...
Hey, I remember this team. The decent starting pitchng. The shut down bullpen. The timely hitting and agressive baserunnig. The occasionally boneheaded play that ends up meaning nothing in the end. It's as if someone went down to the clubhouse and reminded Mik Scioscia what his teams used to excel at. Over the past two games the Angels have been the team on the offensive. Granted...
Don't take the title too literal folks. No, the man didn't have a near death experience and almost become an angel. It was something totally different. Back in the high school days he was nearly drafted by the Angels--Los Angeles Angles (or Anaheim back in his day I believe).
Like many kids in high school, Tebow was a multi-sport athlete and played baseball in the...
Over the years the Angels have done well by themselves by beating up on the drecks of the AL West. If they are going to emerge from their season long slumber, they'd be wise to start doing that very thing once more. Granted, it didn't work out so well against the Astros, but when all else fails, there are the Seattle Mariners.
For a minute there it looked like the Halos...
Mariano Rivera struck out Albert Pujols with the bases loaded to
end the Angels' five-run rally in the ninth inning, and the New
York Yankees snapped their five-game losing streak with a wild 6-5
victory over Los Angeles on Sunday.
