During the first inning of the White Sox and Angels game on Friday night, Albert Pujols ripped a foul ball down the third baseline and out of play.  One fan, who had a full beer tried to test his luck and attempt to catch the ball with his beer.  Instead of making a catch for the ages, he incited a few angry people around him as the beer exploded in a radius of a few rows. Angels Classic Rewind | Dateline: May 19th, 2002

By Joe Haakenson, AngelsWin.com Contributor -  MAY 19, 2002 GAME 41 - ANGELS AT WHITE SOX CHICAGO -- If the Angels wanted to put together a highlight video of their recent hot stretch, the top of the ninth inning of Sunday's game against the Chicago White Sox could serve as the intro. Pinch-hitter Orlando Palmeiro goes the opposite way with a double to left. One out...

Oh Say Can You Sing? : The Night I Sang the National Anthem

By Ellen Bell, AngelsWin.com Staff Writer -  It was my New Year’s resolution. A dare, if you will. Over the years I had listened to many National Anthem singers at the ballpark. One day, I said to myself, “I can do that.” I’m not really sure what drove me to call the Angels Front Office to inquire about an audition in January of 1998. But for whatever the reason...

The 2013 Angels: A New Dark Age or Time of Transition?

By Jonathan Northrop, AngelsWin.com Columnist -  A Brief History of Franchise Ineptitude I’ve never really liked the way the Angels were run. I started following the team around 1980, although I was just a kid and only vaguely followed them, not getting serious about the team until 1987, the year after their ill-fated 1986 campaign. The Angels had been to the playoffs three...

Blowpen Strikes Again; Angels Lose to White Sox 5- 4

Games like this, I just can’t help but reminisce.  It’s just hitting me how spoiled we were back in the mid -2000s.  Pitchers like Scott Shields and K-Rod really don’t come around too often, and when they do it’s not long enough. Those were days, when the 8th and 9th innings were locked down by veterans, now we count on players you’ve never heard of (before this...
