Reliever Michael Kohn and the Los Angeles Angels can't seem to end a rather strange streak. Texas pinch-hitter Jurickson Profar homered leading off the ninth, and the Rangers beat the Angels with a walk-off homer for the fourth straight time at home in a 6-5 victory Thursday night. Kohn (1-4) was on the mound for the last two, having surrendered Adrian Beltre's winning blast that completed Texas' three-game sweep on July 31. Geovany Soto and Leonys Martin won the first two games of that series with long balls. ''It's definitely weird, four walk-offs in a row,'' Kohn said. ''It's not the ballpark. It's just a matter of executing pitches.'' Profar was on the bench when the Rangers had the first four-error inning in their 43-year history in Texas. When he got the call as a pinch-hitter, the rookie erased that bad memory and gave the Rangers at least another day of realistic playoff hopes with a shot about 10 rows into the sta...

CJ Wilson accuses Texas Rangers of giving him bad baseballs

The Los Angeles Angels continued their rough season on Friday night by assuring themselves a losing record with a loss to the Texas Rangers. CJ Wilson pitched fairly well for LA, but he got himself into trouble in the third inning by throwing two wild pitches, issuing a walk and hitting a batter. After the […]

Josh Hamilton Plans to Add Weight in Offseason, Sees Benefit to Having ‘a Little Extra Butt’

Sometimes, it’s best to just keep doing what you’re doing. Josh Hamilton, who racked up 43 home runs and 128 RBIs with the Rangers last season, has had a rough first year with the Angels. And while his struggles are likely due to a combination of things, the 32-year-old may have been adversely affected by a new diet that he started last offseason. Hamilton, who enters Friday’s...

The Texas Rangers Won't Die

Rangers' Profar hits walk-off HR

When he got the call as a pinch-hitter in the ninth inning, the rookie erased that bad memory and gave the Rangers at least another day of realistic playoff hopes. Profar homered leading off the ninth, and the Rangers beat the Los Angeles Angels with a walk-off homer for the fourth straight time at home...

Angels have losing season after 5-3 loss to Texas

The Los Angeles Angels let a chance to avoid a losing season slip away - like the baseball coming out of C.J. Wilson's hands. Wilson had an erratic inning with three wild pitches and consecutive hit batters, and he blamed that wildness on the condition of the balls put into play after the Angels' 82nd loss, 5-3 to the Texas Rangers on Friday night. ''One out of...
