Pro Sports Daily:
Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher Dan Haren was placed on the disabled list for the first time in his career on Thursday. Haren's stint on the 15-day disabled is retroactive to Wednesday and is the result of stiffness in his lower back. Haren has a 6-8 record with a 4.86 ERA in 17 starts this season. Since the beginning of his first full Major League season in 2005, no pitcher has made more starts than Haren, who has started 254 games. Right-handed pitcher Kevin Jepsen has been called up from Triple-A Salt Lake to take Haren's place on the roster.

ANAHEIM, Calif. Angels pitcher Dan Haren prided himself on his resiliency and his ability to make all his starts, but it finally caught up with him Thursday when he was placed on the 15-day disabled list.
The Angels recalled right-hander Kevin Jepsen from Triple-A Salt Lake, although they will probably need to make another move to find a starter for Sunday, which would have been...
Los Angeles Angels placed Dan Haren on the 15-day disabled list for the first time in his 10-year career on Thursday because of stiffness in his lower back.
The club made the move two days after the three-time All-Star finally acknowledged his back has been bothering him since spring training.

The Los Angeles Angels are in the thick of the AL West and AL Wildcard races. That’s the good news. The bad news is the pitching staff is staggering. Ervin Santana has struggled mightily and 5th starter Garrett Richards was optioned to Triple A on July 6th. To make matters worse, Dan Haren just landed on the DL for the first time in his career. This puts the Angels in a tight spot...
Dan Haren admitted to reporters after his recent poor outing on Tuesday that he has been suffering from back pain. Haren is in the midst of his worst season in the Majors, with a 6-7 record and 4.53 ERA. He lasted just four and a third innings against the Indians on Tuesday, while giving up six earned runs on nine hits.
Haren is set to be examined when the team returns to Los Angeles...
Coming into 2012, the Angels’ big offseason had many people, like myself, expecting them to challenge the two-time American League Champion Texas Rangers in the AL West.
To be honest, I actually picked the Angels to overtake them in the division.
Yet after a very slow start, the uphill battle became very steep for the Angels. They have gotten close to the Rangers at times, but...
Trade deadline looming... must talk trade... must throw crap against wall... must see what sticks...
Yep, it's that time again, trade speculation time! But rather than make up ideas like I did earlier this week, let's take an actual real logical look at the Angels trade needs and who their actual targets that totally didn't come from my imagination might be. Yeah...
What a shocker. Dan Haren stunk up the joint... again. Only this time he admitted after the start that his back was bothering him... still.
I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.
All along, the most probable explanation for his poor performance has been recurrence (assuming they ever actually went away) of his lower back pain. Now Danny will be heading back to Anaheim...
