Angels' second baseman Howie Kendrick ran the bases at 90% Friday before the Halos took on the Texas Rangers and is "close" to returning. Kendrick injured his left knee on August 6th when he collided with right fielder Collin Cowgill on a pop fly between right and second. LA Times contributor Mike DiGiovanna quoted Kendrick saying: "I'm still not ready to go yet, but I'm close" Kendrick also said that he was not the type of player to sit the rest of the season because of an injury. The next step for the second baseman would be to run full speed and then take batting practice. He has been out way longer than was expected considering he was initially placed on the 15-day disabled list. Follow @mlbinjurynews Looking for fantasy baseball advice?

Trumbo, Wilson lead LA Angels past Texas 6-5

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) -- C.J. Wilson has been the Los Angeles Angels' best starter this season and a model of durability in his two years since leaving the Texas Rangers. Jerome Williams got back into the win column for the first time in more than 2 1-2 months. The fact that he beat reigning AL Cy Young Award winner David Price and the contending Tampa Bay Rays made it that much sweeter. Better Late than Never; Angels defeat Rangers 8-3

You realize that the Angels are only 10 games out of the second wild card? I believe people I believe... Okay not really. But the drive to .500 is legitimate. With tonight's win the Halos are just 7 games under the break even mark. That seems like a realisic goal for the remainder of the season. Finish above .500 and at least on paper the season will look a little more palpatable...

No worries for Ernesto Frieri in Angels' victory over Tampa Bay Rays, 6-2

The more Ernesto Frieri struggled in late July and early August the more he was consumed by fear not so much of losing his closer job which the Angels right-hander eventually did but of his ability to support his growing family. Frieri 28 is eligible for arbitration for the first time this winter and a strong season as closer could boost his salary from $530000 this season to about...

Angels Rumors: Los Angeles expected to shop Howie Kendrick this offseason

The Angels have added big names such as Josh Hamilton, Albert Pujols and C.J. Wilson in the past couple of offseasons and have been very active in trying to acquire premium talent. Trumbo Home Run Powers Angels Passed Rangers

I have given up hope that the Angels will finish the season in the bottom ten record-wise. So with that said; win all the games Angels. Win them all. Maybe cause a little bit of brouhaha to close out the season. Which would make it interesting to see the Rangers and A’s quiver a little bit with this all-of-a-sudden white-hot Angels team. Please forgive my enthusiasm. But the Angels...

Following a rare setback during their outstanding run, the Los Angeles Angels appear to be in a good position to bounce back with Jered Weaver facing a team he's dominated recently.
