Found December 30, 2011 on MLB Trade Rumors:
Going forward, Angels owner Arte Moreno has made it clear that he wants to leave baseball decisions up to the baseball department as opposed to manager Mike Scioscia.  Here's a look at what the Halos might do next.. The Angels are considering free agent closer Ryan Madson, tweets Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com.  However, in order to stay under the cap, the club would likely have to backload his contract.  Madson's market has thinned out somewhat and nearly 32% of MLBTR readers polled believe that the right-hander will sign with the Angels. Speaking of backloaded deals, Heyman has more details on Albert Pujols' ten-year contract.  Yesterday we learned that Pujols will earn $12MM in 2012 and $16MM in 2013.  Heyman adds that the slugger will make $23MM, $24MM, $25MM, $26MM, $27MM, $28MM, $29MM and $30MM in the following years, according to sources. Every indication from the Halos suggests that they're willing to hold on to Mark Trumbo and Kendry Morales right now,...

Poll: Which Team Will Sign Ryan Madson?

Poor Ryan Madson

When Ryan Madson took the mound in the ninth inning of Game Five of the National League Division Series, I remember watching that moment with my friend Paul (a great writer over at Crashburn Alley) and talking about how this might be the last time that the tall righty ever threw a pitch in red pinstripes, and that he would be exceedingly wealthy in the very near future. It wasn’t...

Sox-Yankee Detente

An uneasy truce prevails. The Red Sox are probably hoarding cash. Could the Yankees be doing the same? The Yankees didn't even look at Albert Pujols, and they just glanced at Carlos Beltran. There is that relatively new stadium to pay for, I suppose. If I were the Sox, I'd keep close watch on the Matt Garza talks. My gut is that the Yankees would have signed Garza earlier...
