Found August 27, 2012 on Monkey with a Halo:
As always, the rankings are based on a player's overall season performance with a weight on recent performance. RANK PLAYER CHANGE COMMENTS 1 -- 0
Last Week: 1 Mike Trout - He's still the MVP frontrunner, but he certainly didn't do himself any favors by going cold the same week that he went head-to-head with Miguel Cabrera. 2 +1
Last Week: 3 Jered Weaver - False alarm, everyone!  Weaver is just fine.  You can now go about trying to rebuild his Cy Young case. 3 -1
Last Week: 2 Albert Pujols - If he is a Machine, doesn't that imply that he isn't supposed to break?  Can someone check the warranty because this is really some pretty horrible timing. 4 -- 0
Last Week: 4 Torii Hunter - Maybe it is just a blip, but it sure looks like Hunter got about two decades older this week. 5 -- 0
Last Week: 5 Mark Trumbo - The Trumbomb drought is over, but Mark's bat still mostly runneth dry right now as he looks for answers to end this slump. 6 +1
Last Week: 7 Erick Aybar - Even with as hot as he has been this month, Scioscia still didn't see fit to put him back in the top of the order even with the hole created by Pujols' absence. 7 +2
Last Week: 9 Howie Kendrick - Yeah, he had a great weak, but seriously, dude, what's with the weird Hitler-stache? 8 -2
Last Week: 6 Kendrys Morales - His huge homer in that crazy Boston game aside, Morales is back on the downslope of his roller coaster season. 9 +4
Last Week: 13 Zack Greinke - Now that is the pitcher the Angels thought they acquired.  Too bad it took almost a full month of the two months that the Halos rented him for. 10 +2
Last Week: 11 Chris Iannetta - You may not know this, but Iannetta translates to "passed ball" in Italian. 11 -2
Last Week: 8 Ernesto Frieri - I mean we all knew that Frieri was going to low the save in the Boston game, right?  Let's just say that the bloom is off the rose. 12 -2
Last Week: 10 Alberto Callaspo - Is he suddenly splitting time with Izturis because Maicer is hot or because Callaspo is not?  Or both? 13 -1
Last Week: 12 Kevin Jepsen - Scioscia seems to be losing a little bit of faith in Jepsen now that he might have other options, however none of the other options are doing any better just yet. 14 +4
Last Week: 18 Dan Haren - I really want to believe he is back, but I think we all know better than to judge him on one start at this point. 15 +2
Last Week: 17 Ervin Santana - His little winning streak is over, but his home runs allowed streak is still going strong.  So he has that going for him. 16 -2
Last Week: 14 Jerome Williams - Despite the ongoing bullpen disaster, Jerome somehow never pitched this week.  That's weird, right? 17 -2
Last Week: 15 C.J. Wilson - Someone needs to tell C.J. that his phrase is "throw strikes" not "throw strikes down the middle of the plate." 18 -2
Last Week: 16 Scott Downs - So here is a crazy development, Downs looks terrible now and one has to wonder if the Angels should even re-sign him once the season is over. 19 +3
Last Week: 22 Maicer Izturis - A very mighty week for Mighty Maicer with the exception of his ongoing 0-for-the-season as a pinch-hitter. 20 -- 0
Last Week: n/a Garrett Richards - That whole "Richards becoming a key late inning reliever" thing didn't last very long, did it? 21 -- 0
Last Week: n/a Jordan Walden - So much for the hope that Walden would come back and pitch like he did early in 2011 and not the pinata from the first half of 2012. 22 -2
Last Week: 20 Bobby Wilson - The best thing about Bobby's week is that he barely played.  I mean that as a compliment to Iannetta and not an insult to Bobby.  I'd hate for him to quit Friendster or something because I hurt his feelings. 23 -1
Last Week: 24 Vernon Wells - Clutch walks and clutch homers yet still the Angels struggle to win when he is in the lineup.  Maybe we just need to start calling Vernon "The Cooler." 24 -3
Last Week: 21 LaTroy Hawkins - It is nice to see that Hawkins has carved out a new role as the guy that comes in to mop up after another reliever already blew the game.  As the pterodactyl/garbage disposal on The Flintstones used to say, "It's a living (shrug)." 25 -- 0
Last Week: 25 Jason Isringhausen - Why is he still on this team?  Why is he allowed to pitch with a one-run lead?  Why is he even being used when the Angels are already carrying seven other relievers? Biggest Riser: Haren and Greinke, up four spots each Biggest Dropper: Hawkins, down three spots Added to the rankings: Garrett Richards (promoted), Jordan Walden (activated from DL) Dropped from rankings: Hisanori Takahashi (banished to Pittsburgh), Peter Bourjos (disabled list) [follow]

Mike Trout high school memories (braces included)

Even though he just turned 21 a few weeks ago, Mike Trout has taken Major League Baseball by storm.  He's the current frontrunner to win the AL MVP and seems poised to take the mantle of the best player alive for the next decade or so.  With all the accolades coming his way, it is easy to forget that he is still but a wee pup or perhaps a guppy or a minnow if we are forced...

Previewing the Angels September call-ups

It is almost that time of year, time for the Angels to dip down into the ranks of their minor league system for some reinforcements in September when rosters expand.  Depending on how you feel about the current state of the Angels farm system, especially the high levels, that is either a midly exciting statement or your are still snickering at the idea that any Halo fan would be...

Mike Trout: What Could Have Been

Mike Trout is having a season for the ages. The kind of season that has baseball fans checking the box score in the newspaper to see what he did the night before, and team executives scratching their heads wondering how they missed on this kid. If you turned on ESPN last year, the only time you would hear the word trout, was during one of those outdoors shows. It’s funny how things...

Trout slipping slightly in August

Since his promotion from Triple-A Salt Lake near the end of April, Los Angeles Angels rookie Mike Trout has taken the American League by storm. However, the 21-year-old's rocket launch to stardom has slowed a little in August. Trout went 1-for-13 during the weekend series in Detroit, going hitless in back-to-back games for only the second time since the start of May (he has...

Game Recap 8/26/12: Regret - Tigers 5, Angels 2

The Angels still very much have a chance at the playoffs.  It is somewhere between a 1-in-8 and 1-in-4 chance depending on which projection system you ask. Neither are great odds, but they are still "doable" odds.  The only problem is the Angels continue to make the math hard on themselves by not winning important series, like this one for example. Out of their remaining...

Red Sox Hoping for Reversal of Fortune Facing Angels, Jered Weaver Again (Video)

Last time Clay Buchholz took the mound, he was on a roll. Unfortunately, the Angels put a stop to his hot streak and touched him up to the tune of a 7-3 win for Anaheim. Now, on Tuesday, Buchholz will face the Halos -- and Jered Weaver -- for a second straight time. Whichever team can adjust better to the rematch will likely have the upper hand, so NESN Nation's Dan Duquette...

Miguel Cabrera and Albert Pujols sit with injuries

The Detroit Tigers and Los Angeles Angels are each sitting a star in the hopes of keeping them healthy for rest of the season. Miguel Cabrera and Albert Pujols were not in the lineup because of injuries Sunday in the Angels-Tigers series finale. Both teams are off Monday. Cabrera played in Detroit's first 126 games this season. The third baseman has a sore right ankle that...

Red Sox-Angels Preview

Jered Weaver had few problems with a Boston Red Sox lineup that included Adrian Gonzalez last week, so there's little reason to suspect he'll struggle in Tuesday night's rematch. His Los Angeles Angels hope there's at least one high-priced first baseman on the field in Anaheim. Albert Pujols is aiming to return as the Angels look to follow a sweep of the Red Sox...

Angels 6, Red Sox 5

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Torii Hunter hit a walk-off sacrifice fly in the ninth inning against embattled Boston closer Alfredo Aceves to give the Los Angeles Angels a 6-5 win over the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night. The Angels, who swept three games from the Red Sox at Fenway Park last week, snapped a two-game losing streak to stay within 4 1/2 games of the Oakland Athletics and Baltimore...

Angels must focus on winning a wild card

The conclusion of the Angels' weeklong road trip to Boston and Detroit has made two truths virtually undisputable. One, winning four of six games against the Red Sox and Tigers sounds good, but it did nothing to help the Angels' chances in the American League West. Two, winning the West is no longer a reality. They're playing for a wild card. It's a hard fact to...
